Muse
Three Girl Rhumba - Wire Think of a number, divide it by two, something is nothing, nothing is nothing. Open a box, tear off the lid, then think of a number, don't think of an answer. Open your eyes, think of a number, don't get swept under, a number's a number A chance encounter you want to avoid, the inevitable, so you do, oh yes you do the impossible Now you ain't got a number, you just want to rhumba, and there ain't no way you're gonna go under Go under go under go under go under you tear me asunder go under go under. Go under Yeah! 83 seconds of pure genius. Punk doesn't get any more basic than this.

MrsRobertPlant
When you first left me I was wanting more But you were fucking that girl next door, what ja do that for? When you first left me I didn't know what to say I never been on my own that way, just sat by myself all day I was so lost back then But with a little help from my friends I found a light in the tunnel at the end Now you're calling me up on the phone So you can have a little whine and a moan And it's only because you're feeling alone At first, when I see you cry, it makes me smile, it makes me smile. At worst, I feel bad for a while, But then I just smile, I go ahead and smile. Whenever you see me you say that you want me back And I tell you it don't mean jack, no it don't mean jack I couldn't stop laughing, no I just could help myself See you messed up my mental health, I was quite unwell I was so lost back then But with a little help from my friends I found a light in the tunnel at the end An' now you're calling me up on the phone So you can have a little whine and a moan An' it's only because you're feeling alone At first when I see you cry, It makes me smile, it makes me smile At worst I feel bad for a while, But then I just smile, I go ahead and smile At first when I see you cry, (when I see you cry) it makes me smile, it makes me smile (it makes me smile) At worst I feel bad for a while, (I feel bad for a while) But then I just smile ( But then I just smile, I go ahead and smile...) ~Bonnie~
Some Christmas music.... I Believe In Father Christmas-Greg Lake They said there'd be snow at Christmas They said there'd be peace on Earth But instead it just kept on raining A veil of tears for the Virgin's birth I remember one Christmas morning A winters light and a distant choir And the peal of a bell and that Christmas Tree smell And their eyes full of tinsel and fire They sold me a dream of Christmas They sold me a Silent Night And they told me a fairy story 'Till I believed in the Israelite And I believed in Father Christmas And I looked at the sky with excited eyes 'Till I woke with a yawn in the first light of dawn And I saw him and through his disguise I wish you a hopeful Christmas I wish you a brave New Year All anguish pain and sadness Leave your heart and let your road be clear They said there'd be snow at Christmas They said there'd be peace on Earth Hallelujah Noel be it Heaven or Hell The Christmas we get we deserve. Father Christmas-The Kinks When I was small I believed in Santa Clause Though I knew it was my dad And I would hang up my stocking at Christmas Open my presents and I'd be glad But the last time I played Father Christmas I stood outside a department store A gang of kids came over and mugged me And knocked my reindeer to the floor They said: "Father Christmas, give us some money Don't mess around with those silly toys. We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over We want your bread so don't make us annoyed Give all the toys to the little rich boys "Don't give my brother a cowaboy outfit Don't give my sister a cuddly toy We don't want a jigsaw or monopoly money We only want the real McCoy "Father Christmas, give us some money We'll beat you up if you make us annoyed Father Christmas, give us some money Don't mess around with those silly toys "But give my daddy a job 'cause he needs one He's got lots of mouths to feed But if you've got one, I'll have a machine gun So I can scare all the kids down the street "Father Christmas, give us some money We got no time for your silly toys We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over Give all the toys to the little rich boys Have yourself a merry merry Christmas Have yourself a good time But remember the kids who got nothin' While you're drinkin' down your wine "Father Christmas, give us some money We got no time for your silly toys We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over We want your bread, so don't make us annoyed

MOJO
Imagine Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try, No hell below us, above us only sky, Imagine all the people, living for today. Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too, Imagine all the people, living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people, sharing all the world. DoubleNecker
Lover's Leap Walking across the sitting-room, I turn the television off. Sitting beside you, I look into your eyes. As the sound of motor cars fades in the night time, I swear I saw your face change, it didn't seem quite right. ...And it's hello babe with your guardian eyes so blue Hey my baby don't you know our love is true. Coming closer with our eyes, a distance falls around our bodies. Out in the garden, the moon seems very bright, Six saintly shrouded men move across the lawn slowly. The seventh walks in front with a cross held high in hand. ...And it's hey babe your supper's waiting for you. Hey my baby, don't you know our love is true. I've been so far from here, Far from your warm arms. It's good to feel you again, It's been a long long time. Hasn't it? The Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man I know a farmer who looks after the farm. With water clear, he cares for all his harvest. I know a fireman who looks after the fire. You, can't you see he's fooled you all. Yes, he's here again, can't you see he's fooled you all. Share his peace, Sign the lease. He's a supersonic scientist, He's the guaranteed eternal sanctuary man. Look, look into my mouth he cries, And all the children lost down many paths, I bet my life you'll walk inside Hand in hand, gland in gland With a spoonful of miracle, He's the guaranteed eternal sanctuary. We will rock you, rock you little snake, We will keep you snug and warm. Ikhnaton And Itsacon And Their Band Of Merry Men Wearing feelings on our faces while our faces took a rest, We walked across the fields to see the children of the West, But we saw a host of dark skinned warriors standing still below the ground, Waiting for battle. The fight's begun, they've been released. Killing foe for peace...bang, bang, bang. Bang, bang, bang... And they're giving me a wonderful potion, 'Cos I cannot contain my emotion. And even though I'm feeling good, Something tells me I'd better activate my prayer capsule. Today's a day to celebrate, the foe have met their fate. The order for rejoicing and dancing has come from our warlord. How Dare I Be So Beautiful? Wandering through the chaos the battle has left, We climb up a mountain of human flesh, To a plateau of green grass, and green trees full of life. A young figure sits still by a pool, He's been stamped "Human Bacon" by some butchery tool. (He is you) Social Security took care of this lad. We watch in reverence, as Narcissus is turned to a flower. A flower? Willow Farm If you go down to Willow Farm, to look for butterflies, flutterbyes, gutterflies Open your eyes, it's full of surprise, everyone lies, like the fox on the rocks, and the musical box. Oh, there's Mum & Dad, and good and bad, and everyone's happy to be here. There's Winston Churchill dressed in drag, he used to be a British flag, plastic bag, what a drag. The frog was a prince, the prince was a brick, the brick was an egg, the egg was a bird. (Fly away you sweet little thing, they're hard on your tail) Hadn't you heard? (They're going to change you into a human being!) Yes, we're happy as fish and gorgeous as geese, and wonderfully clean in the morning. We've got everything, we're growing everything, We've got some in We've got some out We've got some wild things floating about Everyone, we're changing everyone, you name them all, We've had them here, And the real stars are still to appear. ALL CHANGE! Feel your body melt; Mum to mud to mad to dad Dad diddley office, Dad diddley office, You're all full of ball. Dad to dam to dum to mum Mum diddley washing, Mum diddley washing, You're all full of ball. Let me hear you lies, we're living this up to the eyes. Ooee-ooee-ooee-oowaa Momma I want you now. And as you listen to my voice To look for hidden doors, tidy floors, more applause. You've been here all the time, Like it or not, like what you got, You're under the soil (the soil, the soil), Yes, deep in the soil (the soil, the soil, the soil, the soil!). So we'll end with a whistle and end with a bang and all of us fit in our places. Apocalypse In 9/8 (Co-Starring the delicious talents of Gabble Ratchet) With the guards of Magog, swarming around, The Pied Piper takes his children underground. Dragons coming out of the sea, Shimmering silver head of wisdom looking at me. He brings down the fire from the skies, You can tell he's doing well by the look in human eyes. Better not compromise. It won't be easy. 666 is no longer alone, He's getting out the marrow in your back bone, And the seven trumpets blowing sweet rock and roll, Gonna blow right down inside your soul. Pythagoras with the looking glass reflects the full moon, In blood, he's writing the lyrics of a brand new tune. And it's hey babe, with your guardian eyes so blue, Hey my baby, don't you know our love is true, I've been so far from here, Far from your loving arms, Now I'm back again, and babe it's gonna work out fine. As Sure As Eggs Is Eggs (Aching Men's Feet) Can't you feel our souls ignite Shedding ever changing colours, in the darkness of the fading night, Like the river joins the ocean, as the germ in a seed grows We have finally been freed to get back home. There's an angel standing in the sun, and he's crying with a loud voice, "This is the supper of the mighty one", Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Has returned to lead his children home, To take them to the new Jerusalem. Misty Mountains
This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded: Still, You Turn Me On Do you want to be an angel, Do you wanna be an angel Do you wanna be a star Do you wanna play some magic On my guitar Do you wanna be a poet Do you wanna be my string You could be anything Do you wanna be the lover of another undercover You could even be the Man on the moon Do you wanna be the player Do you wanna be the string Let me tell you something It just don't mean a thing You see it really doesn't matter When you're buried in disguise By the dark glass on your eyes Though your flesh has crystallised Still...you turn me on Do you wanna be the pillow Where I lay my head Do you wanna be the feathers Lying on my bed Do you wanna be the cover Of a magazine Create a scene Every day a little sadder A little madder Someone get me a ladder Do you wanna be the singer Do you wanna be the song Let me tell you something You just couldn't be more wrong You see I really have to tell you That it all gets so intense From my experience It just doesn't seem to make sense Still...you turn me on

Do you, you feel like I do? Champagne for breakfast and a sherman in my hand ***** top, ***** tails - never fails Must have been a dream I don’t believe where I’ve been Come on - you wanna do it again? Cali
This song always makes me smile. Poor Bob. He sounds so dejected! Temporary Like Achilles - Bob Dylan Standing on your window, honey, Yes, I've been here before. Feeling so harmless, I'm looking at your second door. How come you don't send me no regards? You know I want your lovin', Honey, why are you so hard? Kneeling 'neath your ceiling, Yes, I guess I'll be here for a while. I'm tryin' to read your portrait, but, I'm helpless, like a rich man's child. How come you send someone out to have me barred? You know I want your lovin', Honey, why are you so hard? Like a poor fool in his prime, Yes, I know you can hear me walk, But is your heart made out of stone, or is it lime, Or is it just solid rock? Well, I rush into your hallway, Lean against your velvet door. I watch upon your scorpion Who crawls across your circus floor. Just what do you think you have to guard? You know I want your lovin', Honey, but you're so hard. Achilles is in your alleyway, He don't want me here, He does brag. He's pointing to the sky And he's hungry, like a man in drag. How come you get someone like him to be your guard? You know I want your lovin', Honey, but you're so hard.
achilleslaststand77
Oh yeah, all right Are you going to be in my dreams Tonight? And in the end The love you take Is equal to the love you make. The End - The Beatles If I listen to Abbey Road from start to finish on vinyl this song always puts chills up and down my spine when it goes from screaming guitars to a staccato piano note... such brilliance. And then I get really sad that this is the last song (I don't really count 'Her Majesty' as a song) on the Beatles last album.
Puck Slapping Maple Sucker
Almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day. It's getting' kinda long, I coulda said it wasn't in my way. But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly, Cause I feel like I owe it to someone. Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas and I'm not feeling up to par. It increases my paranoia, like looking at my mirror and seeing a police car. But I'm not giving in an inch to fear cause I missed myself this year. I feel like I owe it to someone. When I finally get myself together, I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather. And I find a place inside to laugh, separate the wheat from the chaff. I feel like I owe it to someone.
FuzzyMerkin
Two Gallants - The Hand That Held Me Down Oh, the razor in your apple, the affection of your glove The prison of your company, the snake oil of your love The heights to which you drag me, just to hurl your scorn The trumpets play the livelong day but they blow so forlorn Did you hold the hand that held me down? Did you laugh at my expense? When there's rust upon your ragged crown Who will stand at your defense? And when I unveiled my weakness on your rodeo of tears You stood there so vacantly, your fingers in your ears And you left by the morning with all that's left to steal But every time you say farewell, there's breadcrumbs at your heels Did you kiss the hand that held me down? Was your kindness just pretense? When there's no-one left for you to clown Who will stand at your defense? But it's ashes Lord, it's ashes; soon we all fall down You take your place among the saints, make not a single sound And on the hills that held our childhood the flowers grow there still You lay beneath them pushing weeds and I guess you always will Could you be the hand that held me down? When I was sick with common sense And now your statuettes are all torn down There's no-one left for you to lean against And ever since you epitaph was spattered on my wall No-one comes to call They can't stand the stench But I still sing your praises every time the curtain calls The burden on me falls Yeah, I alone stand at your defense Love that line - it's genius! ~Bonnie~
All Along the Watchtower-Bob Dylan "There must be some way out of here" said the joker to the thief "There's too much confusion", I can't get no relief Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line know what any of it is worth. "No reason to get excited", the thief he kindly spoke "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late". All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too. Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

LedZepChick
Just listened to this.... Wish You Were Here (Waters, Gilmour) 5:17 So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skys from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heros for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
