Manfred Mann's Earth Band » Hello, I Am Your Heart

Hello, this is your heart

You got me broken one too many times

Hello, this is your heart, speaking

You got me tired of one too many lies

Goin'away, taking your emotions

Leaving you as cold as ice

If you intend to keep on fooling

You must expect to pay the price

Goodbye, this is your heart

'Cause you got me going one too many times

So long, this is your heart, leaving

Wish you the best of loving

Till I'm coming home

Hello, this is your heart

You got me broken one too many times

So long, this is your heart, leaving

Wish you the best of loving

Till I'm coming home

Gaining love under false pretenses

Lying with your eyes

So when you feel me moving out

It will come as no surprise

Been around too long

I've been around too long

Been around

[repeat to fade]

Am I Evil? by Diamond Head. In my opinion, one of the greatest rock songs EVER.

My mother was a witch, she was burned alive,

Thankless little bitch, for the tears I cried.

Take her down now, don't want to see her face,

All blistered and burnt, can't hide my disgrace.

Twenty seven, everyone was nice,

Gotta see 'em, make 'em pay the price.

See their bodies out on the ice,

Take my time.

Am I evil? Yes I am.

Am I evil? I am man,

Yes I am.

As I watched my mother die, I lost my head

Revenge now I sought, to break with my bread

Takin' no chances, you come with me

I'll split you to the bone, help set you free

Twenty seven, everyone was nice

Gotta see 'em, make 'em pay the price

See their bodies out on the ice

Take my time

Am I evil? Yes I am.

Am I evil? I am man,

Yes I am.

On with the action now, I'll strip your pride

I'll spread your blood around, I'll see you ride

Your face is scarred with steel, wounds deep and neat

Like a double dozen before ya, smells so sweet

Am I evil? Yes I am.

Am I evil? I am man,

Yes I am.

My soul is longing for, await my heir

Sent to avenge my mother, sleep myself

My face is long forgot, my face not my own

Sweet and timely whore, take me home

Am I evil? Yes I am.

Am I evil? I am man,

Yes I am.

Isn't that Doro Pesch

Blasting our way through the boundaries of Hell

No one can stop us tonight

We take on the world with hatred inside

Mayhem the reason we fight

Surviving the slaughters and killing we've lost

Then we return from the dead

Attacking once more now with twice as much strength

We conquer then move on ahead

Evil

My words defy

Evil

Has no disguise

Evil

Will take your soul

Evil

My wrath unfolds

Satan our master in evil mayhem

Guides us with every first step

Our axes are growing with power and fury

Soon there'll be nothingness left

Midnight has come and the leathers strapped on

Evil is at our command

We clash with God's angel and conquer new souls

Consuming all that we can

Evil

Ha Ha

Evil

Has no disguise

Evil

Will take your soul

Evil

My wrath unfolds

I was probably wrong. I thought Warlock had done that song. I must be thinking of something else.

Lordy, I have loved some ladies

and I have loved Jim Beam

and they both tried to kill me

in 1973

when that doctor asked me

Son how did you get in this condition

I said hey sawbones I'm just carryin on

an old family tradition

So don't ask me Hank

why do you drink?

(Hank) why do you roll smoke?

Why must you live out the songs you wrote?

Stop and think it over

Try and put yourself in my unique position

If I get stoned and sing all night long

It's a family tradition!

Anybody know the lyrics to ZZ Top's "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers"? To me the last verse sounds like:

The chump he jumped me like a cat on hot tin

Lord I thought the floor was gonna give in

Sounded like a Hagar house commer'l

But we're in for a better end of frustration

Makes no sense, huh.

I've got every reason on earth to be mad, 'cause I've just

Lost the only girl I had. If I could get my way, I'd get

Myself locked up today, but I can't so I cry instead.

I've got a chip on my shoulder that's bigger than my feet, I

Can't talk to people that I meet. If I could see you now,

I'd try to make you sad somehow, but I can't so I cry instead.

Don't want to cry when there's people there, I get shy when

They start to stare, I'm gonna hide myself away, ay hay;

But I'll come back again someday.

And when I do you'd better hide all the girls, I'm gonna

Break their hearts all 'round the world. Yes, I'm gonna

Break them in two, and show you what your loving man can

Do, until then I'll cry instead.

Don't want to cry when there's people there, I get shy when

They start to stare, I'm gonna hide myself away, ay hay;

But I'll come back again someday.

And when I do you'd better hide all the girls, 'cause I'm gonna

Break their hearts all 'round the world. Yes, I'm gonna

Break them in two, and show you what your loving man can

Do, until then I'll cry instead.

According to oldielyrics.com, the lyric is:

The joint was jumpin' like a cat on hot tin.

Lord, I thought the floor was gonna give in.

Soundin' a lot like a House Congressional

'Cause we're experimental and professional.

Let's swim to the moon, uh huh

Let's climb through the tide

Penetrate the evenin' that the

City sleeps to hide

Let's swim out tonight, love

It's our turn to try

Parked beside the ocean

On our moonlight drive

Let's swim to the moon, uh huh

Let's climb through the tide

Surrender to the waiting worlds

That lap against our side

Nothin' left open

And no time to decide

We've stepped into a river

On our moonlight drive

Let's swim to the moon

Let's climb through the tide

You reach your hand to hold me

But I can't be your guide

Easy, I love you

As I watch you glide

Falling through wet forests

On our moonlight drive, baby

Moonlight drive

Come on, baby, gonna take a little ride

Down, down by the ocean side

Gonna get real close

Get real tight

Baby gonna drown tonight

Goin' down, down, down

(I can't stop loving you)

I've made up my mind

To live in memory

Of the lonesome times

(I can't stop wanting you)

Yes, it's useless to say

So I'll just live my life (live my life)

In dreams of yesterday

(Dreams of yesterday)

(Those happy hours) Oh, those happy hours

(That we once knew) That we once knew

(So long ago) Though long ago

(Still make me blue) Oh, still make me blue

(They say that time) They say that time

(Heals a broken heart)

(But time has stood still) But time has stood still

(Since we've been apart) Since we've been apart

(I can't stop loving you) I think you ought to know

I've already made up my mind (I just made up my mind)

To live in memories

(Of the lonesome times)

(Those happy hours) Oh, those happy hours

(That we once knew) That we once knew

(So long ago) Though long ago

(Still make me blue) Oh, still make me blue

(They say that time) They say that time

(Heals a broken heart) Heals a broken heart

(But time stood still) Time stood still

(Since we've been apart) Since we've been apart

(I can't stop wanting you)

Yeah, Yeah, It's useless to say

So I'll just live my life (I'll just live my life)

In dreams of yesterday (In dreams of yesterday)

Falling Slowly-Glen Hansard

I don't know you

But I want you

All the more for that

Words fall through me

And always fool me

And I can't react

And games that never amount

To more than they're meant

Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice

You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me

And I can't go back

Moods that take me and erase me

And I'm painted black

You have suffered enough

And warred with yourself

It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice

You've made it now

Falling slowly sing your melody

I'll sing along

Right as Rain, Adele

Who wants to be right as rain, it's better when something is wrong.

You get excitement in your bones and everything you do is a game.

When night comes and your on your own you can say I chose to be alone.

Who wants to be right as rain, it's harder when you're on top.

'Cause when hard work don't pay off and I'm tired,

There ain't no room in my bed, as far as I'm concerned.

So wipe that dirty smile off, We

won't be making up, I've cried my heart out

and now I've had enough of love.

Who wants to be riding high when you'll just crumble back on down.

You give up everything you are and even then you don't get far.

They make believe that everything is exactly what it seems.

But at least when you're at your worst, you'll know how to feel things.

See when hard work don't pay off and I'm tired,

There ain't no room in my bed, as far as I'm concerned.

So wipe that dirty smile off, We

won't be making up, I've cried my heart out

and now I've had enough of love.

Go ahead and steal my heart to make me cry again,

'cause it will never hurt as much it did then,

when we were both right and no one had blame,

but now I give up on this endless game.

'Cause who wants to be right as rain, it's better when something is wrong.

I get excitement in my bones, even though everything's a strain.

When night comes and I'm on my own, you should know I chose to be alone.

Bill Withers - Lean On Me

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain

We all have sorrow

But if we are wise

We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride

If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill those of your needs

That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear

That you can't carry

I'm right up the road

I'll share your load

If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'd understand

We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

Till I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Lean on me...

Amazing Grace Lyrics

John Newton (1725-1807)

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come;

'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far

and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.

His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be,

As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

Farm On The Freeway

Nine miles of two-strand topped with barbed wire

laid by the father for the son.

Good shelter down there on the valley floor,

down by where the sweet stream run.

Now they might give me compensation...

That's not what I'm chasing. I was a rich man before yesterday.

Now all I have got is a cheque and a pickup truck.

I left my farm on the freeway.

They're busy building airports on the south side...

Silicon chip factory on the east.

And the big road's pushing through along the valley floor.

Hot machine pouring six lanes at the very least.

Now, they say they gave me compensation...

That's not what I'm chasing. I was a rich man before yesterday.

Now all I have left is a broken-down pickup truck.

Looks like my farm is a freeway.

They forgot they told us what this old land was for.

Grow two tons the acre, boy, between the stones.

This was no Southfork, it was no Ponderosa.

But it was the place that I called home.

They say they gave me compensation...

That's not what I'm chasing. I was a rich man before yesterday.

And what do I want with a million dollars and a pickup truck?

When I left my farm under the freeway.

I've always liked the lyrics of Lemon Tree by Peter, Paul, & Mary

When I was just a lad of ten, my father said to me,

"Come here and take a lesson from the lovely lemon tree."

"Don't put your faith in love, my boy", my father said to me,

"I fear you'll find that love is like the lovely lemon tree."

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

One day beneath the lemon tree, my love and I did lie

A girl so sweet that when she smiled the stars rose in the sky.

We passed that summer lost in love beneath the lemon tree

the music of her laughter hid my father's words from me:

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

One day she left without a word. She took away the sun.

And in the dark she left behind, I knew what she had done.

She'd left me for another, it's a common tale but true.

A sadder man but wiser now I sing these words to you:

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet

but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

Video, India Arie

Sometimes I shave my legs and sometimes I don't

Sometimes I comb my hair and sometimes I won't

Depend on how the wind blows I might even paint my toes

It really just depends on whatever feels good in my soul

I'm not the average girl from your video

and I ain't built like a supermodel

But, I learned to love myself unconditionally

Because I am a queen

I'm not the average girl from your video

My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes

No matter what I'm wearing I will always be the india arie

When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me

Every freckle on my face is where it's supposed to be

And I know our creator didn't make no mistakes on me

My feet, my thighs, my lips, my eyes; I'm lovin' what I see

I'm not the average girl from your video

and I ain't built like a supermodel

But, I learned to love myself unconditionally

Because I am a queen

I'm not the average girl from your video

My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes

No matter what I'm wearing I will always be the

india arie

Am I less of a lady if I don't wear pantyhose?

My mama said a lady ain't what she wears but, what she knows

But, I've drawn a conclusion, it's all an illusion, confusion's the name of the

game

A misconception, a vast deception

Something's gotta change

but,Don't be offended this is all my opinion

ain't nothing that I'm sayin law

This is a true confession of a life learned lesson I was sent here to share with

y'all

So get in where you fit in go on and shine

Clear your mind, now's the time

Put your salt on the shelf

Go on and love yourself

'Cuz everything's gonna be all right

I'm not the average girl from your video

and I ain't built like a supermodel

But, I Learned to love myself unconditionally

Because I am a queen

I'm not the average girl from your video

My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes

No matter what I'm wearing I will always be the india arie

Keep your fancy drinks and your expensive minks

I don't need that to have a good time

Keep your expensive car and your caviar

All I need is my guitar

Keep your Kristal and your pistol

I'd rather have a pretty piece of crystal

Don't need your silicone I prefer my own

What God gave me is just fine

I'm not the average girl from your video

and I ain't built like a supermodel

But, I learned to love myself unconditionally

Because I am a queen

I'm not the average girl from your video

My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes

No matter what I'm wearing I will always be india arie
