The March of The Black Queen - Queen

Do you mean it do you mean it do you mean it

Why don't you mean it why do I follow you

And where do you go?

Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

You've never seen nothing like it

No never in your life

Like going up to heaven

And then coming back alive

Let me tell you all about it

If the world will so allow it

Oooh give me a little time to choose

Water babies singing in a lily pool delight

Blue powder monkeys playing in the dead of night

Here comes the Black Queen poking in the pile

Fi fo the Black Queen marching single file

Take this take that bring them down to size

March to the Black Queen

Put them in the cellar with the naughty boys

Little nigger sugar then a rub-a-dub-a-baby oil

Black on black on every finger nail and toe

We've only begun - begun

Make this make that keep making all that noise

Ooh march to the Black Queen

Now I've got a belly full

You can be my sugar baby

You can be my honey child, yes

A voice from behind me reminds me

Spread out your wings you are an angel

Remember to deliver with the speed of light

A little bit of love and joy

Everything you do bears a will

And a why and a wherefore

A little bit of love and joy

In each and every soul lies a man

And very soon he'll deceive and discover

But even to the end of his life

He'll bring a little love

Ah ah ah ah ah

I reign with my left hand I rule with my right

I'm lord of all darkness I'm queen of the night

I've got the power

Now do the march of the Black Queen

My life is in your hands I'll fo and I'll fie

I'll be what you make me I'll do what you like

I'll be a bad boy I'll be your bad boy

I'll do the march of the Black Queen

Ah ah ah ah ah

Walking true to style she's vulgar vuse and vile

Fie fo the Black Queen tattoos all her pies

She boils and she bakes

And she never dots her I's

La la la la la la la la la la la la

La la la la la la

Forget your singalongs and your lullabies

Surrender to the city of the fireflies

Dance with the devil in beat with the band

To hell with all you hand-in-hand

But now is the time to be gone - forever

Rags To Riches

I know I'd go from rags to riches

If you would only say you care

And though my pockets may be empty

I'd be a millionaire

My clothes may still be worn and tattered

But in my heart I'd be a king

Your love is all that ever mattered

It's everything

Must I forever be a beggar

Whose golden dreams will not come true

Or will I go from rags to riches

My fate is up to you

There are times when a sappy song hits home with a vengeance.

"The Rose"

Some say love, it is a river

that drowns the tender reed.

Some say love, it is a razor

that leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,

an endless aching need.

I say love, it is a flower,

and you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking

that never learns to dance.

It's the dream afraid of waking

that never takes the chance.

It's the one who won't be taken,

who cannot seem to give,

and the soul afraid of dyin'

that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely

and the road has been to long,

and you think that love is only

for the lucky and the strong,

just remember in the winter

far beneath the bitter snows

lies the seed that with the sun's love

in the spring becomes the rose.

The March of The Black Queen - Queen

My favourite Queen song! :)

The Best Years Of Our Lives - Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel

One of my favourite songs of all time.

European maids, hard to ignore

You, me and the boys, barred from the shore

Fresh-faced imbeciles, laughing at me

I've been laughing myself, is that so hard to see?

Do I have to spell each letter out, honestly!

If there's no room for laughter there's no room for me

Try looking at you, rather than me

No truth is in here, it's all fantasy

Since the last time we met I've been through

About seven hundred changes and that's just a few

And the changes all tend to be something to do

But you've got to believe that they're all done for you

You'll think it's tragic when that moment arrives

Ah, but it's magic, it's the best years of our lives

Lost now for the words to tell you the truth

Please banter with me the banter of youth

If I knew how to say it I'd say it for you

If I knew how to whisper I'd whisper for you

If I knew how to waltz I'd get up and dance for you

If t thought I could run I'd come running to you

I've discovered now how to be fair

This one could teach you if only I dare

The only conclusion I've reached in my life

Is that if I should die I should die by the knife

Since it's only a matter of courage all right,

Die a man or a martyr, the two would be nice,

So nice

You'll think it's tragic when that moment arrives

Ah, but it's magic, it's the best years of our lives

Anyway, getting back to the topic :

Ogre Battle - Queen

Now once upon a time

An old man told me a fable

When the piper is gone

And the soup is cold upon the table

And if the black crow flies

Find a new destination

That is the sign

Come tonight

Come to the ogre site

Come to ogre battle fight

He gives a great big cry

And he can swallow up the ocean

With mighty tongue he catches flies

And the palm of his hand incredible size

One great big eye

Has to focus in your direction

Now the battle is won

Yeah yeah yeah

Come tonight

Come to the ogre site

Come to ogre battle fight

Ah ah ah ah ah

The ogre men are still inside

The two way mirror mountain

You gotta keep down

Right out of sight

You cant see in but they can see out

Keep a look out

The ogre men are comming out

From the two way mirror mountain

Theyre running up behind

And theyre coming all about

Cant go east cause you gotta go south

Ogre men are going home

The great big fight is over

Bugle blow that trumpet cry

Oh oh oh

Ogre battle lives for ever more

You can come along

You can come along

Come to ogre battle

My favorite (at this moment)

TALKING HEADS - (NOTHING BUT) FLOWERS

Here we stand

Like an Adam and an Eve

Waterfalls

The Garden of Eden

Two fools in love

So beautiful and strong

The birds in the trees

Are smiling upon them

From the age of the dinosaurs

Cars have run on gasoline

Where, where have they gone?

Now, it's nothing but flowers

There was a factory

Now there are mountains and rivers

you got it, you got it

We caught a rattlesnake

Now we got something for dinner

we got it, we got it

There was a shopping mall

Now it's all covered with flowers

you've got it, you've got it

If this is paradise

I wish I had a lawnmower

you've got it, you've got it

Years ago

I was an angry young man

I'd pretend

That I was a billboard

Standing tall

By the side of the road

I fell in love

With a beautiful highway

This used to be real estate

Now it's only fields and trees

Where, where is the town

Now, it's nothing but flowers

The highways and cars

Were sacrificed for agriculture

I thought that we'd start over

But I guess I was wrong

Once there were parking lots

Now it's a peaceful oasis

you got it, you got it

This was a Pizza Hut

Now it's all covered with daisies

you got it, you got it

I miss the honky tonks,

Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens

you got it, you got it

And as things fell apart

Nobody paid much attention

you got it, you got it

I dream of cherry pies,

Candy bars, and chocolate chip cookies

you got it, you got it

We used to microwave

Now we just eat nuts and berries

you got it, you got it

This was a discount store,

Now it's turned into a cornfield

you got it, you got it

Don't leave me stranded here

I can't get used to this lifestyle

PINK FLOYD - TWO SUNS IN THE SUNSET

"Two Suns In The Sunset"

in my rear view mirror the sun is going down

sinking behind bridges in the road

and i think of all the good things

that we have left undone

and i suffer premonitions

confirm suspicions

of the holocaust to come

the rusty wire that holds the cork

that keeps the anger in

gives way

and suddenly it's day again

the sun is in the east

even though the day is done

two suns in the sunset

hmmmmmmmmm

could be the human race is run

like the moment when your brakes lock

and you slide toward the big truck

and stretch the frozen moments with your fear

and you'll never hear their voices

and you'll never see their faces

you have no recourse to the law anymore

and as the windshield melts

my tears evaporate

leaving only charcoal to defend

finally i understand

the feelings of the few

ashes and diamonds

foe and friend

we were all equal in the end

JOAN BAEZ - DIAMONDS AND RUST

I'll be damned

Here comes your ghost again

But that's not unusual

It's just that the moon is full

And you happened to call

And here I sit

Hand on the telephone

Hearing a voice I'd known

A couple of light years ago

Heading straight for a fall

As I remember your eyes

Were bluer than robin's eggs

My poetry was lousy you said

Where are you calling from?

A booth in the midwest

Ten years ago

I bought you some cufflinks

You brought me something

We both know what memories can bring

They bring diamonds and rust

Well you burst on the scene

Already a legend

The unwashed phenomenon

The original vagabond

You strayed into my arms

And there you stayed

Temporarily lost at sea

The Madonna was yours for free

Yes the girl on the half-shell

Would keep you unharmed

Now I see you standing

With brown leaves falling around

And snow in your hair

Now you're smiling out the window

Of that crummy hotel

Over Washington Square

Our breath comes out white clouds

Mingles and hangs in the air

Speaking strictly for me

We both could have died then and there

Now you're telling me

You're not nostalgic

Then give me another word for it

You who are so good with words

And at keeping things vague

Because I need some of that vagueness now

It's all come back too clearly

Yes I loved you dearly

And if you're offering me diamonds and rust

I've already paid

JOHNNY CASH - SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN

Well I woke up Sunday morning

With no way to hold my head, that didn't hurt

And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad

So I had one more for dessert

Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes

And found my cleanest dirty shirt

Then I washed my face and combed my hair

And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day

I'd smoked my mind the night before

With cigarettes and the songs I'd been pickin'

But I lit my first and watched a small kid

Playin' with a can that he was kicking

Then I walked across the street

And caught the Sunday smell of someone's fryin' chicken

And it took me back to somethin'

That I'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way

On a Sunday morning sidewalk

I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned

'Cause there's something in a Sunday

That makes a body feel alone

And there's nothin' short of dyin'

That's half as lonesome as the sound

Of a sleepin' city sidewalk

And Sunday mornin' comin' down

In the park I saw a daddy

With a laughin' little girl that he was swingin'

And I stopped beside a Sunday school

And listened to the songs they were singin'

Then I headed down the street

And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'

And it echoed through the canyon

Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday

On a Sunday morning sidewalk

I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned

'Cause there's something in a Sunday

That makes a body feel alone

And there's nothin' short of dyin'

That's half as lonesome as the sound

Of a sleepin' city sidewalk

And Sunday mornin' comin' down

"...manic depression has captured my soul..."

I'm listening to "Manic Depression" right now! :D

Anyway, back to the topic :

Red House - Jimi Hendrix

There's a red house over yonder, that's where my baby stays.

There's a red house over yonder, baby, that's where my baby stays.

Well, I ain't been home to see my baby in about ninety nine and one half days,

'bout time I see her.

Wait a minute, something's wrong.

The key wont unlock the door.

Wait a minute, something's wrong, baby.

The key wont unlock the door.

I got a bad, bad feeling that my baby don't live here no more.

I might as well go on back down,

Go back 'cross yonder over the hill.

I might as well go back over yonder

Way back yonder 'cross the hill, (That's where I come from)

'Cos if my baby don't love me no more.

I know her sister will!

My latest obsession: "Joanne" by Michael Nesmith

"Her name was Joanne

And she lived near a meadow

By a pond

And she touched me for a moment

With a look that spoke to me

Of her sweet long

Then the woman that she was

Drove her on with desperation

And I saw, as she went

A most hopeless situation

For Joanne and the man

And the time that made them both run

She was only a girl

I know that well, but still I could not see

That the hold that she had

Was much stronger than the love

She felt for me

But staying with her

And my little bit of wisdom

Broke down her desires

Like a light through a prism

Into yellows and blues

And the tune that I could not have sung

Though the essence is gone

I have no tears to cry for her

And my only thoughts of her

Are kind (...)"

One of my favorite songs -- Road to Somewhere by Goldfrapp

Walking down the Mercer St

Been a long hot summer

Rain like daggers coming

Down on me

Get a feeling it's too late

But alone, together, could

Be we might start it up

Allover again

Dream, dream you're not

Too late

Sweet road to somewhere else

Listen to the radio

Are you calling?

3 o'clock I'm on my way

On the road to somewhere

Little clouds like wounds

That blow away

Listening to the radio like a

Friend that guides me

Playing out every song

We used to know

Dream, dream you're not

Too late

Sweet road to somewhere else

Listen to the radio

Are you calling?

Bring it on

Come along

On the road to somewhere

Take our time

See the signs

On the road to somewhere

"The Clapping Song," by Shirley Ellis

3, 6, 9

The goose drank wine

The monkey chew tobacco on the streetcar line

The line broke, the monkey got choked

And they all went to heaven in a little rowboat

Clap pat - clap pat - clap pat - clap slap

Clap pat! clap your hand...

Pat it on your partner hand... right hand

Clap pat! clap your hand...

Cross it with your left arm

Pat your partner left palm

Clap pat! clap your hand...

Pat your partner right palm

And a right palm again

Clap slap! clap your hand...

Slap your thigh and sing a little song go...

My Mother told me

If I was goody

That she would buy me

A rubber dolly

My Auntie told her

I'd kissed a soldier

Now she won't buy me

A rubber dolly

3, 6, 9

The goose drank wine

The monkey chew tobacco on the streetcar line

The line broke, the monkey got choked

And they all went to heaven in a little rowboat

Clap clap!

Clap your hands and prepare to pat

Clap!

Take your right arm

Pat your partner palm with your right palm

Clap!

Take your hand back and clap

Clap!

Take your right arm

Cross your right arm with your left arm

Pat your partner left palm with your left palm

Clap!

Now back with a clap

Take your hand to your palm and slap your thigh

And watch the fun materialize

As you sing this little song:

My Mother told me

If I was goody

That she would buy me

A rubber dolly

My Auntie told her

I'd kissed a soldier

Now she won't buy me

A rubber dolly

Clap!

Clap pat - clap pat - clap slap

Clap pat!

Clap pat - clap pat - clap slap

FEAR A' BHA\TA

How often haunting the highest hilltop

I scan the ocean, a sail to see

Will it come tonight, love, will it come tomorrow

Or ever come, love, to comfort me

Chorus

Fear-a-uata, no horoway-la

Fear-a-uata, no horoway-la

Fear-a-uata, no horoway-la

O fare thee well, love, where'er thou be

They call thee fickle, they call thee false one

And seek to change me but all in vain

Thou art my dream yet throughout the dark night

And every moment I watch the main

There's not a hamlet, too well I know it,

Where you go wandering or stay awhile

But all its old folk you win with talking

And charm its maidens with song and smile

Doth thou remember the promise made me,

A token plead, a silken gown

That ring of gold with your hair and portrait

That gown and ring I will never own

You don't know me but I'm your brother.

I was raised here in this living hell.

You don't know my kind in your world.

Fairly soon the time will tell.

You, telling me the things you're gonna do for me.

I ain't blind and I don't like what I think I see.

Takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets, no more need for runnin',

takin' it to the streets.

Take this message to my brother.

You will find him everywhere.

Wherever people live together,

tied in poverty's despair.

Oh, you, telling me the things you're gonna do for me.

I ain't blind and I don't like what I think I see.

Takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets, no more need for runnin',

takin' it to the streets.

Takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets, no more need for hidin',

takin' it to the streets.

Takin' it to the streets, takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the...

Oh, you, telling me the things you're gonna do for me.

I ain't blind and I don't like what I think I see.

Takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets, no more need for runnin',

takin' it to the streets.

Takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets,

takin' it to the streets.

Ooh, let's go

Steve walks warily down the street

With the brim pulled way down low

Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet

Machine guns ready to go

Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this

Are you hangin' on the edge of your seat

Out of the doorway the bullets rip

To the sound of the beat - yeah

Another one bites the dust

Another one bites the dust

And another one gone and another one gone

Another one bites the dust, eh

Hey, I'm gonna get you too

Another one bites the dust

How do you think I'm going to get along

Without you when you're gone

You took me for everything that I had

And kicked me out on my own

Are you happy ? Are you satisfied ?

How long can you stand the heat

Out of the doorway the bullets rip

To the sound of the beat

Look out

Another one bites the dust

Another one bites the dust

And another one gone and another one gone

Another one bites the dust, eh

Hey, I'm gonna get you too

Another one bites the dust

Do What You Like - Blind Faith

Do right, use your head.

Everybody must be fed.

Get together, break your bread.

Yes, together, that's what I said.

Do what you like.

Don't fight, use your head.

It's all right every night.

Do what you like, that's what I said.

Everybody must be fed.

Do what you like.

Open your eyes.

Realize you're not dead.

Take a look at an open book.

Do what you like, that's what I said.

Do what you like.

Lateralus • by Tool Black then white are all I see in my infancy.

red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.

lets me see.

As below, so above and beyond, I imagine

drawn beyond the lines of reason.

Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must

Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.

red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.

lets me see there is so much more

and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities.

As below, so above and beyond, I imagine

drawn outside the lines of reason.

Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.

Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line.

Reaching out to embrace the random.

Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.

I embrace my desire to

feel the rhythm, to feel connected

enough to step aside and weep like a widow

to feel inspired, to fathom the power,

to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,

to swing on the spiral

of our divinity and still be a human.

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself

between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,

I feel it move across my skin.

I'm reaching up and reaching out,

I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.

And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Spiral out. Keep going, going...

You know I like my chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night

A pair of jeans that fit just right

And the radio up

I like to see the sunrise

see the love in my woman's eyes

feel the touch of a precious child

know a mother's love.

Well I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine

And that`s home you know

Sweet tea pecan pie and homemade wine

Where the peaches grow

In my house it`s not much to talk about

But it`s filled with love that`s grown in southern ground

And a little bit of chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night

A pair of jeans that fit just right

And the radio up

Well I`ve seen the sunrise

See the love in my woman`s eyes

Feel the touch of a precious child

And know a mother`s love

Well its funny how it`s the little things in life that mean the most

Not where you live, the car you drive, or the price tag on your clothes

There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind this I`ve come to know

So if you agree have a drink with me

Raise your glasses for a toast

To a little bit of chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night

A pair of jeans that fit just right

And the radio up

Well I`ve seen the sunrise

See the love in my woman`s eyes

Feel the touch of a precious child

And know a mother`s love

I thank god for my life

And for the stars and stripes

May freedom forever fly, let it ring.

Salute the ones who died

The ones that give their lives so we don`t have to sacrifice

All the things we love

Like our chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night

A pair of jeans that fit just right

And the radio up

Well I`ve seen the sunrise

See the love in my woman`s eyes

Feel the touch of a precious child

And know a mother`s love

i've zig-zagged all over america

and i cannot find

a safety haven

say, would you let me cry

on your shoulder, i've heard that you'll try

anything twice

...close your eyes, and think of someone

you physically admire

and let me kiss you

let me kiss you

...and then you open your eyes

and you see someone

you physically despise

but my heart is open

my heart is open to you...

Probably posted this a few years ago but here is a fine lot of lyrics from a song by a little known comedy team from old blighty called "Monty Python"

Sit On My Face lyrics

Sit on my face and tell me that you love me,I'll sit on your face and tell you I love you, too. I love to hear you o-ra-lize,When I'm between your thighs,You blow me awaaay.

Sit on my face and let my lips embrace you,

I'll sit on your face and then I'll love you tru-ly.Life can be fine if we both sixty-nine,If we sit on our faces In all sorts of places And play...'till we're blown awaaaaaaaaaay.
