2016 Major League Baseball Contest....

Alright, ladies and gentlemen--it's that time again. With Spring Training in full effect and the regular season a mere weeks away, it's time for the 2016 MLB Contest.

The rules are pretty simple--pick the team who you think will win each division & also the 2 teams you think will secure the Wild Card spots in each league. You get a point a day for each victory your team earns & at the end of the season the points will be tallied up. Also, you can predict who you think will be each league's Cy Young winner, but those points will count on the MLB postseason.

And, if there are any suggestions as to how the contest could be tweaked or improved, share them here.

Past Winners:

2014: LedZeppfan77 (I hope Rick returns in time for the new season)...

2015: Stargroves Tangie

Good luck everyone...

Maybe 25 bonus points for correctly predicting the division winners and 10 for wild cards?  That'll separated those from just getting the teams with the most wins?  Whatever you think Paul.

Welcome back Rick. Hope things are well...

Btw, you want to get your Cy Young picks in? There's no rush, of course, just thought you might have forgot....

I think I'll make my selections when a few more people jump on board...

I need a bit more education on the matter.  And I picked Minnesota on a hunch.  i was thinking White Sox also.   I just think the Tigers will have an off year and a surprise is in store.  Seattle can be in it and so too Texas.  I did not pick Toronto because like the Yankees I just hate them.  I hate them because of Anderson.

Glad you are back and I know why you (reluctantly) picked the Saint Louis Cardinals.  However, of all the teams you picked, only the Saint Louis Cardinals have made it to the Post-Season/Playoffs the past 5 years in a row.  Even you have to admit that that is a tremendous and a very remarkable feat.

(I will enter this contest and give my picks at a later date).  Thanks to Paul for starting this and keeping track of this throughout the 2016 Major League Baseball season.

Yes, its not easy keeping the scores and all.  Thanks Paul.  If I were you King, I would be a bit worried about the Cubs this year.  I will worry only about the AL East for now.  I am not convinced the Red Sox are a cinch to win it like so many believe

Starting with the National League:

NL East: Mets  (will never pick against my team)

NL Central: Cubs (get the feeling this might be their year)

NL West: Giants (let's see if the every other year thing works again)

Wild Cards: Nationals (probably will be up there again), Cardinals (seem to be there all the time)

American League:

AL East:  Red Sox (think they will surprise this year)

AL Central: Royals (last year's champs probably will be good again)

AL West: Rangers (also did well last year)

Wild Cards: Blue Jays , Tigers (both did well)

NL Cy Young: Jacob deGrom (my favorite Met)

AL Cy Young: David Price (will win many games if Sox do well)
