No Quota Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 We've all had that moment of clarity when a Plant lyric escapes from the sonic fog and our mistaken vocal contribution in error is exposed. A couple of examples of mine would be : "Hey there Whoopie Cat" for "Hey there would we care....... to all get in line" in MMH. "They talk of bongs from Lilly's place" for "Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace" in Kashmir "Oh Excitement Man!!" for "Oh... Satan and man" in HOTH. I'm sure I have more. The funniest wrong lyric I've heard all time was Hendix's Purple Haze, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy", Luckily it's not mine. Any others out there? Quote

Canadianzepper Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 The best mistaken lyric to me wasn't a lyric per se, but a misunderstanding of WHO was on the mic. In the very beginning of Going To California you can hear clearly someone taking a deep breath. I had thought forever that it was Plant, when I heard the Remastered Alternative Version with only the guitar overdubs, the same breath is there. Therefore it has to be Page, maybe John Paul before he plays the mandolin? Who knows the answer to this one? Quote

That's what I suspected, he must be saying a girls name. Seems like In My Time of Dying is atonement for Dancing Days. ? Quote

Windy Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 In The Ocean... "I got a date, I can't be late, for the high hopes hailla ball" I always heard it as "for the hell hounds at my foot" I still like to think of it that way because I don't know what a "high hopes hailla ball" could possibly be!
