In the wake of the release of "Deus Ex Machina", I thought it might be fun to do a live compilation of the 1975 soundboards. 75 is personally one of my least favorite live years, but I think a killer compilation/live album could be assembled using these soundboard recordings. In terms of soundboards, this is the most documented Zeppelin tour of all, and the soundboards themselves sound amazing. Here's what my compilation would look like:

Rock and Roll - 3/21

Sick Again - 3/21

OTHAFA - 3/4

IMTOD - 3/14

TSRTS - 3/20

The Rain Song - 2/12

Kashmir - 3/17

No Quarter - 2/28

SIBLY - 3/21

TUF - 3/21

Moby Dick - 2/28

D&C - 3/21

Stairway to Heaven - 3/21

Whole Lotta Love - 3/11

Black Dog - 3/21

Communication Breakdown - 3/21

Heartbreaker - 3/21

So what would your 75 soundboard compilation be?

That's a good selection.

Hopefully one day we'll get a best of SBD for every touring year.

I'm pretty familiar with 75 and 77, but my knowledge of SBDs from other years is a bit sketchy.

A BluRay for each tour could contain the two or three "best" versions of each song from that tour, satisfying most people's tastes, and the oddities that were played only once or twice on tour.

Of course, these things tend to become redundant as new SBDs appear, but at some point we will run out.

SB releases will continue to be great. And I can't wait for more.

What we really need, is official live releases.

What will that take? What stars have to align?

A documentary would be a great catalyst, but no talk of anything being considered.

The other catalyst for a live release program may well be the 50th anniversary. Lets hope.....

OTHAFA from 3/4 Dallas is a given.  And...IMTOD from the ame show should have been the choice.  When Plant says "take it John" he knows Bonham is onand wants to go.  A truly great version

2-12 OTHFA blistering solo and zero flubs

2-14 Trampled lots of extras on all the guitar fills and fast paced

2-14 Heartbreaker great intro with some varying drumbeats and plenty of add ons from Page

I have to revise my list:

SIBLY from 3/21 (soundboard really blows the audience recording away)

CB from 2/13 (had forgotten about that killer jam with Ronnie Wood)

YES! I don't know how this one gets overlooked so much. By far my favorite version. Bonzo's fills here are ridiculous. And it's Baton Rouge, I think they were feeling that swamp mentality.
