I guess they only have special pre-sale for selected cities then of the 2017 twelve North American tour dates listed. I hope they add Atlanta as I don't want to travel 300 miles to NC to see Robert when he's always toured in Atlanta. Maybe they'll add another leg (but maybe they won't). YIKES! Begins at 12 pm tomorrow perhaps it will change. Also presales for Amex and Chase cards, both of which I have and begin at 3 pm, so may go for that if I don't get the former. It doesn't seem to have much natural ambience to it and sounds over-produced, with kind of fake reverb and other conspicuous digital post-processing. I also find the mix doesn't gel and some of the sound effects to be jarring, especially that repetitive sound on the Bluebird track. Just my personal opinion. I'm sure others love the production. I do admire him for putting out new music and have seen him in concert numerous times. But at 69, I feel his voice is beginning to sadly fade. This new Ticketmaster system is worse than previous one, as the floor is gone after less than two minutes for the February 11th Charlotte, NC show. I'm not driving 4 hours and paying $184 for two balcony tickets. No way. I'd only pay that much for two floor seats down front (and this is the presale with the special code???). 😳 Hope Robert adds Atlanta or does one more US concert date with Jimmy, JPJ & Jason. R😎 Holy cow, that scares me. A friend told me there was a "corporate" presale only here in Phoenix today. (yeah corporate, probably meaning ticket brokers). Besides ticket brokers, if I am correct tickets will only be available at the official Phoenix Symphony Hall box office. I have been debating whether to go early in the morning and line up at the box office, or stay home and try online. But I'm not sure now after you told me how fast the floor seats sold out! But I was actually hoping that I would be able to use the code for the Phoenix show, which I was not so I haven't used it, because I am not traveling to LA, code or not... They are unique per person per individual city for one purchase of up to 4 tickets in one transaction. Hope you can get decent floor tickets. R😎 Yeah, I read that codes were not transferable to other cities before I applied for the pre-sale lottery, but I applied anyways because you never know if for some reason it might change or something. I agree that it would be very nice to be able to have special access to pre-sale tickets for being on this forum for a certain length time or something. I can't afford it but what the heck I can't miss him. Have been lucky enough to see Robert every visit to Toronto since '83........can't wait for this show!! There are people that like his ventures into Americana and world music. I am one of them. I am thrilled to see him in ny. I love LZ too.. I still run through their catalog all the time but it's an age old debate especially after 07 ...LZ ended for me in 1980 when Bonzo died.i like hearing Plant do what he can with his voice well than be like McCartney who does not know one can't sing at 70 something like they did 50 years ago. For people who don't dig Robert and his recent music it made my chance of getting tickets and cd even better.. I like the songs so far and honestly at 69 he can and will do what he wants and I can't wait. Cue the trashing of everything he's done in last 10 years.. Good point. Macca's voice is weak and shaky now and he can't do the earlier material justice. As I've also said, at the age of 69 Plant is maximising what potential he has left. When The tickets on the main floor at the start of the presales are all but gone, there's something seriously wrong. We've Jumped through Enough hurdles to attempt to get decent tickets in the same zip code to the front of the stage with little to Nothing to show for it. Glad at least a couple of you got some tickets. We just want a level playing field. On a side note: What they need to do at venues is enforce a no video w/ cell phone policy for ticket holders on the floor, so those the fake fans (you know the type: man bunned , skinny jeaned, trendy beard wearing " alt-Americana" ) who hold their cameras up to take selfies and talk during the entire concert need to be escorted to the back or out of the Building. Want a pic of Plant on stage try google..,last tour saw terrific B.A.M show then had Hammerstein ballroom ruined year later by woman screaming in my ear. "Where's Jimmy Page... play Stairway"! When they set out to make new music, rock icons who have visited – or resided – at the pinnacle of success face unexpected challenges of scale. Sure it's possible to re-create the larger-than-life arena-rattling sounds that propelled them in the (often distant) past, but such attempts can register as contrivance or desperation. We've all endured this particular ritual, in which legacy artists attempt to get back by serving up imitations of what worked 30 years previous. Painful. Robert Plant, the gilded voice in the center of the maelstrom known as Led Zeppelin, has followed a different path. In the last decade, he's intentionally sidestepped the classic-rock bellowing business, opting instead to explore bluegrass and Appalachian folk (the still astonishing 2007 collaboration with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand), rural blues, and the intricate polyrhythms of music from the Middle East and India. Each project has demanded new tactics from him, and he's adjusted his delivery to suit the temperature and atmospheric pressure of the music. This sensitivity is the guiding force behind Plant's transfixing new Carry Fire. His 11th solo effort, it continues his collaboration with The Sensational Space Shifters, and musically ventures further into the finely woven blend of folk, Celtic, blues and world music that defined his 2014 lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar. It is a triumph of calibration, the work of a mature artist who understands how hard to swing and when to throttle back. It brings Plant's heaven-bound sound to a human scale, an approachable place. Robert Plant is 69 years old, and clearly not inclined to do the circus trick of singing "Black Dog" to new generations of dazed and confused concertgoers. That said, he can still summon the fury of the Gods when necessary – see the wailing swirl of vocal ad-libs on "Bones of Saints." But on most of Carry Fire, he's concerned with other evocations: He seeks to cultivate a zone of deep reflection. His new songs dwell on notions of impermanence; scattered into the rhapsodies are images of dying embers, confessions of personal shortcomings and recollections of lost, long-gone moments of stolen bliss. Both the opening "The May Queen" and the spellbinding meditation "A Way With Words" share the thoughts of a man ruminating, directly and only slightly romantically, on the cycle of life and death. "I'm out here in the shadow," Plant sings plainly at the close of "The May Queen," presenting himself as a detached observer carefully tracking "the dimming of my light." For all that darkness, Carry Fire is the polar opposite of music from death's waiting room. Through careful arrangements and a downright beautiful vocal capture, Plant and his collaborators create music that overflows with irrepressible life force – a riveting mix of exotic hand drumming and Bo Diddley rhythm, somber cello and dancing oud, high-minded U2-style processionals bumping right into the lusty energy that defined Led Zeppelin. It's got strikingly ethereal passages, yet remains fully grounded, close to the earth. luvlz2 Posted October 6, 2017 Share Posted October 6, 2017 Was able to hear it in audio, the prelude he did (with the voice affects) to W.L.L. was powerful, that was a cool surprise, he could do that for 10-20 minutes and I'd be in bliss. The sound of S.Y.K.M.C.D. about three quarters of a way through it, where you just hear the guitar and the band, really sounds good, kind of reminds me of some of the sound of Fate of Nations taken to a deeper level if that makes sense, Seth Lakeman really sounds good.
