In this newest of Battles we have a competition between the master of head thrashing, Mr. Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath and the God of Thunder, Gene Simons from KISS. In an all out battle, who would win?

Is this for real? Sid Viscous played bass better than Simmons...and actually still does. Gene is perhaps the worse bass player in history.

There are six year old kids picking up a bass for the first time laying down a better grove than Gene could on his best day. Talk about a fucking tosser!

People bashing on Gene obviously don't know much about him as a player, more just the name.

Sad.

Gene, all day

Yeah, such a great musician he used Neil Jason on his own solo album for all of the bass parts. The guy is a joke. A very rich joke but a joke.

Sad.

Gene Simmons is a good Bass player and singer, a good and at times great songwriter and an excellent onstage performer, entertainer.

Geezer Butler is one of the greatest Metal Bassist's ever and a brilliant lyricist.

For Bass alone, Geezer Butler no question..

Fcking funny.
Sid was described by Rotten as 'quite possibly the most talentless, useless individual in history', but there's two Sid & bass yarns that make it worthwhile:
Rotten's sarcastic line about Sid deciding to teach himself bass by staying up all night with Can's Tago Mago 'cos he thought he could master that in an evening'!
And Rotten's quip after Sid had whacked the redneck over the head with the bass in San Antonio: 'Oh dear, Sidney's guitar appears to have slipped...'
Classics, both.

You will not get any argument from me regarding the bold above as he wrote some damn fine, catchy tunes and is one hell of an entertainer. His vocal on Calling Dr. Love is one of my favorites, that and Cold Gin, ballsy as hell.

Chaim Weitz's life was mapped out for him early on and as you can see he always had the tongue and the oversized head.
