Lady Goodman
BBC News Last Updated: Friday, 28 December 2007, 11:10 GMT Plant awarded 'beard of the year' Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant has the beard of the year, according to the Beard Liberation Front, an informal network of beard wearers. Liverpool football manager Rafael Benitez came second, with third place shared by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson and cricketer Monty Panesar. They were followed by comedian Russell Brand and author Michael Rosen. The prize is designed to highlight those who promote "a positive image of hirsuteness" in the public arena. Plant, who was clean-shaven in Led Zeppelin's 1970s heyday, was seen sporting a beard at the band's reunion gig in London earlier this month. Beard Liberation Front organiser Keith Flett said: "The winners this year have stylish beards and are promoting a new 21st Century image of the hirsute." Panesar, who plays for England, won the award last year.
eternal light
It's interesting the way his facial hair follows the lines of his dimples. Edited January 2, 2008 by eternal light
ninelives
It's interesting the way his facial hair follows the lines of his dimples. Can you PLEASE post in a normal size and color. What you have to say is no more or less important than anyone else and shouting it is a bit much.

ZPN
I admit I prefer Robert sans beard/moustache-I think his smile shows even more without the facial hair, and for me the smile is to die for. But that's just moi-he should do what he likes!

jabe
I think he looks better with the beard I prefer the beard as well. It takes his outward coolness to another level. That is my bearded opinion.

Mangani
I didn't like Planty when he had the beard in 1970/71 but it sure suits him these days. Kind of reminds me of Billy Connelly nowadays.
