Tom Allison Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Yeah, what types of PA's did they use in the early days? For that matter, what did they used in later times, too? Quote
bluecongo Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 WEM systems early on Once they picked up Showco in 1970 they left all sound to them. Quote
Tom Allison Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Did they use WEM in America? Quote
Tom Allison Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 I can understand that they used WEM in the UK but did they bring that gear to America? Quote

No way that had anything to do with it. Lots of bands have played with crap PAs. Plants voice deterioration was a combination of his style of singing, heavy touring, and singing through injury. Smoking is low on the list of things that hurt his voice. Lots of singers smoked back then. The band’s performance style and 3 hour concerts did as much damage to Plant’s voice as they did to Page’s tendons in his hands. Quote
chillumpuffer Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Around the 2 min 30 mark he mentions how poor the PA's were. Quote
