Acetates have a much softer surface compared to vinyl, haven't they? I don't think noted collector Robert Godwin was very enthousiastic of the acetate medium...Too expensive and after a few spins the grooves wore out.

Fortunately he's wrong. Have lots of Acetates or transcription discs and while yes a softer surface is true, grooves wearing out after a few plays is a misconception. Few years now with lots of other friends in groups owning and playing them and no problems.

$979.69 in your dreams. This item will NEVER sell for anywhere near that amount. If it does, you've encountered someone with more dollars than sense.

Whoever said this is Wrong. VERY wrong

I own 2/3 of the full volley of TMOQJapan. And play them.
expensive a little. But pure quality. Sound

Acetates are not intended for repeated use; they are meant to test the sound quality of the master pressing. Are you playing acetate pressings or vinyl pressings? There's a difference. I have an acetate pressing of Jimmy Page's 'Wasting My Time' single from Sterling Sound in New York City, and I've never played it because I don't want to put any wear and tear on it and besides, the song itself is available in digital format.
