Yes there is a cost-benefit analysis. Then you have states like Mississippi which has a 38% vaccination rate and their hospitals are overrun with COVID patients. For those who post this vaccination is the mark of the beast or some other insanity is just ridiculous. I had never had a flu shot, I’m a pretty healthy man. But I would rather be safe than sorry and not a jackass who doesn’t get vaccinated or wear a mask. As a society we can’t have it both ways.

I would like to see the statistic that 40% of the deaths are nursing home related. That seems like a high number. But are their lives inconsequential? All life is important, and if the vaccine, and masks help save them why can we not contribute to our fellow man and try and be safe and take care of each other? And honestly with the ZeroHedge blog posts constantly. You might as well post what your drunk uncle thinks or has to say. It’s not a peer reviewed Journal. It’s not what any journalist ever points to as a reliable source of information. It’s a blog, people with shitty opinions and people that post stats that try and fit their views. Fact check and news sources that have to actually go on record when they write a piece that is incorrect is where it is at. Otherwise it is just opinions. And there are not alternate facts. Just facts!

And lastly, how about being kind and wanting people to succeed, and for our country and humanity to succeed. Not a certain group to be right or wrong.

Right on JohnOsbourne.

Don't say you haven't been warned Plant, for those who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, and his number is six hundred and threescore six, and that no man might buy or sell save he has the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Don't follow herd mentality be aware of the signs, it's the end of days, it's as plain as day.

The Sturgis bike rally was held the second week of AUGUST!  So, why can't science extrapolate those numbers?

While being outdoors is generally less risky than cramped indoor settings, people at games and other big events tend to move between the two. Oftentimes there are also other activities associated with the main event where people congregate and provide opportunities for the virus to spread.

"The risk isn't just the football game or the music festival, but what people do in the lead up, during and after," said Dr. Cameron Wolfe, an associate professor of medicine at Duke University.

This is partly what makes it difficult to track whether large events — such as concerts, sporting events and festivals — lead to subsequent spikes in cases.

Lollapalooza, a four-day music festival held in Chicago at the end of July, was linked to 203 cases of Covid-19, but the city's department of health said a certain number of infections were anticipated among the roughly 385,000 attendees and added that the uptick was "no sign" of a superspreader event. Lollapalooza required attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test.

In August, more than 100 infections across five states were traced back to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, where hundreds of thousands of people descended for the annual event in a state that has imposed few restrictions throughout the pandemic. The same event last year was thought to have contributed, in part, to a wave of infections across the Upper Midwest.

Still, figuring out just how many cases stemmed from any one event is an imprecise science without exhaustive contact tracing and genetic sequencing.

"It's hard to link clusters of cases that you might not see until three to six days later back to an initiating event," Wolfe said. "It's not that transmission doesn't occur; it's just hard to prove without a lot of manpower and lab work."

And if you actually believed this, I think the most appropriate and efficient thing one could do to attain salvation would be to continually spend 'the end of days' posting on the website of an over 40 year dead rock n' roll band frequented by a handful of people.  Surely God's work and the path to salvation lies right here.

Funny huh? Where is the hall monitor (Reids) now? Elf on a Shelf (love that one) continuously posts his religious nonsense yet, crickets. I guess some folk get more leeway then others?

In other news, my whole family and circle of friends are healthy, why? Because they got the vaccine and are following mandates. Of course one particular friend of mine who was vaccinated did contract COVID but so far it's affects have been minor and I sure hope it stays that way.

St. Fauci's halo is slipping.....

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Dr. Anthony Fauci from renewed allegations that Fauci misled Congress about the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) funding of gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses in Wuhan, China, during a press conference on Thursday.

Gain-of-function research refers to efforts to improve a virus’s capabilities in order to study and develop treatments for it.

Fauci has repeatedly insisted that the NIH has funded nothing that could reasonably be considered gain-of-function research in Wuhan. Many disagree. Dr. Richard Ebright, a biosafety expert at Rutgers University, told National Review in May that NIH funded research in Wuhan that “matches — indeed epitomizes — the definition of ‘gain of function research of concern’ for which federal funding was ‘paused’ in 2014-2017.”

Earlier this week, The Intercept published new documents — including a grant proposal — that described research that Ebright again deems gain of function. “The viruses they constructed were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell,” he told The Intercept.

Psaki was indignant when asked by Fox News’s Peter Doocy if President Joe Biden would consider relieving Fauci of his positions as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases and chief medical adviser to the president, insisting that “NIH has refuted that reporting.”

“NIH has never approved any research that would make a coronavirus more dangerous to humans, a reminder that there are previous and different coronaviruses than the existing one we’re battling,” said Psaki, who pointed out that the genomes of the coronaviruses described in the NIH research were different from the virus that has caused the ongoing pandemic.

NIH research in Wuhan would not need to be proven to have been connected to the pandemic for Fauci to be guilty of lying before Congress. Evidence that he was aware of the gain-of-function research previously debated or that which was uncovered by The Intercept would render Fauci’s statements false.

A visibly frustrated Fauci told Senator Rand Paul that “the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” earlier this year.

Steve you and John Osbourne are smart guys, call me crazy, but I see the writing on the wall and can read between the lines, that's all I'll say.

I'd rather die than take that poison they're injecting people with, that's just my gut feelings and hopefully we won't lose our freedom like so many have in other parts of the world where we can still refuse to take that garbage, like I've said before, they'd have to put a gun to my head and then pull the trigger to try and make me take it.

The rules for my Croatia trip change daily!  Now Lufthansa has sent me an e-mail saying testing is no longer allowed for entry into Germany (my stop before Croatia), you MUST show proof either electronically or by paper certificate that you have been vaccinated!

Hope nothing changes between now and next Wed when I fly out!

I think I've run out of words for this thread. Hopefully it won't totally devolve into a political catfight, but maybe it's a few pages too late for that kind of thinking....

P.S. I wasn't thinking about a booster shot since I'm still fit as a fiddle from the initial pokes, but if necessary, I'll acquiesce...

I am fully vaccinated, though I deeply regret it now as a matter of principle. This was never about the virus or public health policy, it's all about control.

Ain't that the truth!

The neanderthals bitching about the vaccine are the same ones popping PEs like they are candy. Pfizer makes Viagra. Aren't they afraid Bill Gates will implant a microchip in their dick?
