redeyedrichard
Ah, maybe it's not the same gig then. I might be a day out either side or something. Unless they're not playing in Manchester or Preston and he is indeed going to Leeds. I'm pretty sure it's in Manchester though... I wouldn't know who it was then...and I might look a little stupid if I walk around in the dark with a big neon sign saying "I'm Redeyedrichard...I know Chicken!" But at least he would find me. FanNo1(ish)
That is a great call! Joe is a seriously great blues guitarist! Joe Bonamassa - Blues Jam He does a great cover of 'Tea For One' on his album, 'You And Me' too.. Every blues fan should check him out.. He's got great feel, as well as amazing technical proficiency.. I'm with you there Bonamassa is awesome - saw him live (at Holmfirth!!) a few months ago hoping to go again to leeds in Feb. His new cd Sloe Gin is similarly great. Should give Derek Trucks Band a listen too - very eclectic but brill. Also plays slide guitar with the Allman Brothers Band in his spare time! greatest (non-Zep) album of all time - Derek & the Dominoes - Layla & other assorted love songs - forget the title track the whole double album is sensational - and eric's on blistering form on the live double cd at Filmore east, check it out
Chicken
Seriously. I can't see no reference at all between The Answer and Zeppelin, it's not even close to Zeppelin, at least musicaly. They have more in common with late 80's sleaze rock and indie rock or 90's Aerosmith than anything Zep or Free or whatever.. ..and they are not my cup of tea. I think they're definitely close to Zeppelin musically...it's certainly not as blatant as the ridiculous similarity they have regarding image/mannerisms, but it's definitely there. It's in the groove mostly. But don't get me started on the way that band look...I'm embarrased for them.

They haven't got any groove, while Zeppelin certainly has alot of groove.

TheBulle
check out a band called Metro riots! They are from London and play Blues (hard)rock! So far they released one album. They are influenced by blues singers like Robert Johnson. They love Led Zeppelin (good point!). Their guitarist Danny has the ZOSO sign tatooed on his arm. Oh, and knowing the band members, I must say that they are the nicest blokes ever.

Chicken
One of the most outstanding new bands are the Kings of Leon. They dont sound like anything before and they leave an impression wherever they go ... Definately check em out I was going to see them on Sunday night but I can't now 'cos I've gotta be in London. I am pretty gutted about that...I've been looking forward to it for ages, and my boyfriend's been looking forward to it even more than me! But oh well...at least I'm missing them for a good reason. yahyoubetcha
I'm always hesitant to try bands where the main component is the offspring of a famous musician. It always makes me question why they are making music/signed. Kinda like Jason Bonham? But definitely check out Camel, any and all. Just real pretty guitar.
