What Are You Listening To At This Moment?

As I've tried to explain (rather unsucessfully, I might add) several times I never understood the logic of posting a YouTube link in this thread to start with, especially when there's an entire thread devoted solely to posting YouTube links. It's What Are You Listening To At This Moment?, not What Are You Watching?.

I thought the youtube thread was intended primarily for non-music youtubes. I usually listen to the musical youtubes, so it makes sense. People post pictures in this thread from the album covers and you can't listen to those pictures.

I may be thinking of the old board but there used to be a YouTube thread for the Other Bands / Music section as well.

To you perhaps but most people that watch YouTube do just that, watch it, not listen to it. Do you ever listen to albums themselves? If so, you sure wouldn't know it from your posts in this and the other What Are You Listening To?-type threads, all of which seem to consist of nothing but links to YouTube.

People post pictures in this thread from the album covers and you can't listen to those pictures.

No, they can't but that isn't the implication. People posting album covers is representative of the albums they're listening to.

Eddie only has one album to choose from (the Into the Wild Soundtrack) but there's a lot to choose from Nusret. In fact, I can't even remember the one I have right off the top of my head. I honestly don't listen to it all that much but it's there whenever I feel the need for something different.

I got Into The Wild for Christmas and like it very much. Regarding Nusret, if you can find a title of the one you have it would be greatly appreciated.

I know the Doobies are one of those bands that get played to death on Classic Rock radio but overplay hasn't lessened my respect for them one iota. They have lots of stuff that's very good but you never hear it on the radio, at least not anymore. They also seem to get lumped into the "soft rock" category even though they can rock out with the best of 'em. Then there's the whole Michael McDonald years thing. I much prefer the original Doobies with Tom Johnston but I don't mind a few of the McDonald-era songs.

Jahfin, I have to say one thing about you. You are the voice of reason. I was giving that person a hard time, because in another thread they were critical about my GIF file. I also enjoyed the Doobies back in Tom Johnston days. They played a show in Northern VA about 4 years ago and it sold out fairly fast. Another show was added in Baltimore.

Me too! :)

I love their cover of VU's Waiting For the Man on there. And to think, some people actually believe Cheap Trick are some kinda "hair metal" band just because of cheesey pop shit like The Flame (a song they now disown). I saw 'em on tour back in the late 70s with local band Nantucket and headliners AC/DC (with Bon Scott), one of the best shows I've ever seen. Cheap Trick were relatively unknown back then and did the opening honors.
