The Song Remains The Same Re-edit V2

I've just posted an improved edit + remaster of The Song Remains The Same

Just type "Guitars101 Led Zeppelin 1973 MSG Live The Song Remains The Same Re-edit V2" into Google and you should find it easily enough or message me for a link.

I've made a few improvements to it since my original post last year based on suggestions from people here at the Official Forum. My aim was to create the ultimate version with all the problems from the 2007 fixed - basically, how I wish it had been presented for the 2018 reissue. Hopefully, I've finally achieved that! Brief summary of changes made:

- All weird timing issues involving dropped beats have been fixed in Since I've Been Loving You, Dazed And Confused, Heartbreaker and Whole Lotta Love (see Eddie Edwards' Garden Tapes website for further details).

- The best version of each song has been chosen from the different releases (1976 original release, 2007 re-release, 2003 DVD Boxed Set + the best bootleg source for Thank You).

- EQ discrepancies between the sources ironed out.

- 2cd set turned into a 3cd set to accommodate the encores in their rightful place.

Here's a more detailed break-down of what I've done:

CD1
01-Rock And Roll (2007 version as more vocal flubs have been corrected here)
02-Celebration Day (1976 version due to its superior guitar solo)
03-Black Dog (2003 DVD version as it's complete with all the verses)
04-Over The Hills And Far Away (2007)
05-Misty Mountain Hop (2007)
06-Since I’ve Been Loving You (2007 version, but I've fixed the odd edit which removed a beat just before the 2 minute mark)
07-No Quarter (1976 version, one of the greatest band performances of all time)
08-The Song Remains The Same (1976 version which includes more Plant ad-libs)
09-The Rain Song (2007 version due to its gorgeous treatment of the vocals)

CD2
01-Dazed And Confused (2007 version, but I've fixed the timing issues at 4 mins and at 23 mins)
02-Stairway To Heaven (1976 version due to more Plant ad-libs)

CD3
01-Moby Dick (1976 version due to better edits)
02-Heartbreaker - Whole Lotta Love (2007 version Heartbreaker, but I've restored the missing beat in the drum transition into Whole Lotta Love + I've edited together the 2007/1976 versions of Whole Lotta Love to include the longer Crunge section)
03-The Ocean (2007 but in its rightful place as the encore)
04-Organ Solo - Thank You (best sounding bootleg source used - I've cleaned up a few flubs in the Organ Solo)

The alt. edit film version of No Quarter is also at the end of disc 3 as a bonus track.

Enjoy!

Well, I love the }{eywood version (and told him so!) but I do think I've improved upon it. He didn't tackle the timing errors or use the most complete versions of the songs and that's what lead me to do this version. I've cleaned up a few other things too.

However, I do completely acknowledge his amazing work. I've loved listening to it for years. Just a few bits that I thought I could tidy up.

Hope you enjoy it!

This is fantastic!  Thank you so much for doing this.  I have heard versions of this a million times, but every time I listen it brings a smile to my face.  Sometimes it is difficult to believe how good the band was and how good they sounded.

I'm sure I will,  about to listen right now. Thank you kindly.
