Fuzz Face
Hey, I was messing around with this app called ‘ToneBridge’ and was trying to emulate sounds from a VOX Conqueror that I believe Page used on the track ‘Bring It On Home’. That solid-state amplifier had a built-in fuzz circuit and a Mid-Range-Boost toggle that I think would lend itself quite accurately to the tones heard on ‘Bring It On Home.’ Since ToneBridge only allowed me to replicate the amplifier and its built-in fuzz circuit, I tried to replicate the original Mid-Range-Boost settings on GarageBand using the free plugin F-16 Filter. The descending riff played during the verse was likely treated with some reverse-delay, so I added some. Then I fed all the signals into an emulation of an analog EQ circuit all fried up to get the ‘everything in red’ sound on the record. Lemme know what you think! https://youtu.be/lKAd5oxT6IE
zeplz71
Sounds good. I think Bring It On Home was recorded on the road so it would have probably been a Marshall or HiWatt? If you want to try to capture his Vox sound, try doing Whole Lotta Love.
