TeaLeafReadingGypsy
on the 1977 tour, jimmy plays the riff differently. instead of playing it like below; going to E first and the to A... |------------------------------------|------------------------------ |------------------------------------|------------------------------ |------------------------------------|------------------------------- |-2p0-0----------------------------|-2p0-0----------------2-----| |---------2p0-0--------------------|---------2p0-0--------0-----| |-----------------3b4-0------------|-----------------3b4---------| he plays some weird chord that sounds as though its route note is G. does anyone know what this chord is? Thx!! TeaLeafReadingGypsy
Cactus
he plays some weird chord that sounds as though its route note is G. I'm not sure, but I think I know what you're talking about. What he does is goes to the A chord and holds it, and plays a G on the 6th string, then bends it up to A. This is the same as in the riff to Out on the Tiles, for example, the bend from the G to A. EL34
Hi I started doing this when I was playing along with "DVD" I play this. Its an A chord with the low G on the Bass - I thought it sounded a little strange when I started to do it but with time it becomes natural to put it there? ------ ------ --2--- --2--- --0--- --3--- Hope it helps. Yes, that's exactly what I meant and I should have tabbed it out like you! Maybe put a bend on the G note.
huw
Sometimes he'll do it as more of a Gadd9: --x --3 --2 --0 --x --3 but the changes often seem spontaneous. Also, sometimes it'll sound different, but it's JPJ who's changed his note, not Jimmy.
