The Mail on Sunday - 6th Jan

Recommended Posts

There's an article on Bron Yr Aur in this weeks mail on Sunday. It's about the urge in trest in the place since the 02 show. Things like people going up there and taking things .......

........ i felt so guilty reading it and looking across to my fireplace with my piece of Bron Yr Aur slate ..lol

I read this article in the Mail today. Old news!

What was interesting was that the vicar who now owns it (and he said he didn't know about its association with LZ when he bought it - really?) says he wouldn't sell it, but "joked" that if he was offered millions then he would have to think about it.

Sounds like capitalism is alive and well and living in the good old Church of England.

So if everyone who was at the o2 chipped in £50 each we could buy Bron yr Aur and make the vicar happy.

Send me the money and I will sort it!

We would own a brick each! That's cheap memorabilia thinking about it!

The boathouse in Pangbourne is still up for sale and I suggested the same thing - all chip in and buy it.

Maybe we could set it up like a timeshare; everyone who contributes a certain amount toward purchase of said property could then have it for a week or so each year. I imagine everyone would want the place in summer though :) That might be tough to negotiate.

What a fabulous idea... :) We could incorporate Zeppelin.Com time share company, and hold these places in trust for future generations of fans!

Well! My suggestion of all chipping in £50 and buying Bron Y Aur (if the vicar wanted to sell) was tongue in cheek BUT if lots of people are interested in putting in some money and us all owning it en masse shout up.

It could be done with enough interest.

Ok - let's wait to see who else is up for it and then make a decision.

So serious offers of interest and amount offered please and we will see where we can go with it.

Remember it would be a share in a real piece of Led Zeppelin memorabilia!

Headley Grange is a parking lot now isn't.

Nope. It's still there and is quite a lovely place.

headgnge.jpg

Its History Grange History And according to JPJ and JP this is where Stairway To Heaven was written. I have heard this from more than one source. You decide...facts cannot be rewritten for someones convenience/marketing. I think, I am not sure that this place still does BnB stuff as does that other

In relation to Bron yr Aur, and the slate there is no difference to taking a little bit of slate, than if you go to Corris, and venture half way to the top of a freezing slate tip in the middle of November, to find the exact spot, with over hanging cables, that is so remote you would not believe it, and the spot where Robert and Jimmy filmed No Quarter, back in the nineties, there was slate everywhere you could pick up if you wanted.
