Stryder1978
"John Bonham had his standard long drum solos that gave many people a chance to finally hit the bathrooms. LMAO...thanks for sharing Wolfman! A great read!
SteveZ98
Thanks for posting the article. One of the things it highlights is that Zep were legends in their own time. It's hard to appreciate now just how popular they were then, and how limited our access was to them in the days before the internet made it easy to find videos and audio of them. Back then, if you didn't catch them in person, your only other way to see them was a showing of The Song Remains The Same. The other thing it illustrates is just how great the '77 tour was if you got to see it in person. It's easy these days to compare it to previous tours and think it may not have reached the highs of the early days, but for a lot of people those shows were the best concerts they ever saw, and still remain fond memories decades later. John M
This article speaks to me and rings true. It captures much of what I thought and felt the one time I got to see Zeppelin on June 11, 1977. Thanks for sharing this.
Strider
Helluva lot easier to get to Madison Square Garden on time with all of the subways than it was fighting rush-hour traffic on the freeway to the L.A. Forum.
Victor
I posted some time ago about what it was like to see them at Earls Court, might be of interest....
