paul carruthers
Pete Alonso is mashing right now. I wouldn't be surprised if had 50+ home runs at season's end, which is still a pretty big accomplishment in my eyes. I wonder how his numbers stack up to Paul Goldschmidt? I better hop over to the ESPN MLB page and look at the stats....

I expect the Phillies to get to 10 vs Arizona and Atlanta 11 vs the Pirates. This is typical of Atlanta. I would fear them of course more than the Phillies. I would expect the Mets to beat the Angels tonight but you never know. O's finally beat the stinking Royals. Kremer makes his second start so I am hoping for good results. Yes, even watching a rebuilding franchise. The Dodgers have had trouble of late. With that lineup I would have the manager on a very short leash. Kershaw goes tonight. kingzoso
Thanks to great playing by the Cardinals and the current 8 game losing streak by the Brewers, the Cardinals are now in first place in the NL Central. As for the upcoming MLB All-Star game, the Cardinals, I believe, will have Paul Goldschmidt (1st base), Nolan Arenado (3rd base), Tommy Edman (SS) and Harrison Bader (CF) represent the Cardinals. Possibly Yadier Molina (C), Adam Wainwright (P) and Albert Pujols (DH) as well. Supposedly the final season for all three of these future (1st ballot) Hall of Famers. Of course, with the All-Star game still 5 weeks away, anything is possible.

And next year when Means comes back we will have a rotation that includes Means, Wells (pithing great), Kremer ( good young arm, just returned), and not sure who they go with, maybe Lyles? They can hit. Mountcastle is a name you should remember. And Santander, and Hayes. Mullins is already good. We are getting better and I think the rebuild comes to fruition next year. My only fear is another situation like with Machado. Mountcastle could be stolen by the greedy Yankees or Padres or one of the teams that has money. My team apparently does not have money and has an asshole in the office. But for now, I like where its heading. Dodgers, Atlanta and Mets will be a real fight. One of those 3 likely goes to the series. Looks like the Yankees may be waiting for them. I think the only teams that could be a threat to the Yankees would be Houston or the White sox. The White Sox should win the central. There are many games to be played. Enjoy the moment of being in first place in that shit division King. paul carruthers
The Braves have been hot, but as long as my Mets keep taking care of their own business & winning series, I'm sure they'll be alright. Unless something fell out of my mind, they've only lost 2 series all year and split a pair of 4 gamers with the Braves and Dodgers. Buck knows baseball may be my new slogan.... Well your Mets certainly have a better shot this year than your Dolphins. Even though I am picking them for 2nd place and maybe a wild card. Maybe. Atlanta finally cooled off but they will likely make the playoffs as at least a wild card even if Mets win the division. Only the central winner goes and two teams will come from the West also. Likely the Dodgers and Padres. I expect the White Sox to take over the central in due time in the AL. A Yankess vs Mets series is not out of the question. But the Dodgers and Braves and Padres could also have a say. I rather doubt the Padres in the post season though. potential WS preview with Mets vs Houston? I would not count White Sox out either. NLCS should be 2 of following 3. Dodgers, Mets, Braves Edited June 22, 2022 by LedZeppfan1977

Its not. Lopez is damn good pitcher. They have Alcantrara also and both are very good. Ill take the Marlins tonight even though Wainright is good too. Milwaukee will win the Central and be the only team to make it. Have you noticed how good my YOUNG ORIIOLES TEAM IS DOING? Went into South Chicago and won 3 of 4 from the White Sox. The Orioles are not only hot right now, they have some kids you should take notice of. Mountcastle and Hayes are two names you should circle. Next year when Means returns, they will have a nice rotation. Means, Wells (who is hot and pitch's tonight in Seattle), Kremer, Watkins, and Voth. I did not mention Lyles who is ok. But expect a solid rotation next year. The bullpen has been good. 7-3 last ten. They are coming. Hyde, the manager has done a very good job and has done some good Buck Showalter imitations when having a young kid start. He has managed the bullpen very well. These birds are starting to fly. paul carruthers
It's rare these days, but this is the kind of baseball I like to watch, 2 starting pitchers going deep into a game & having a classic duel. The way Walker was dealing with Verlander on the mound for Houston, I might question Buck pulling him after 7 and 1/3, but I trust my manager.... Until he waited one batter too long to put Zach Britton in the game in the ALCS an we lost to KC because or that decision. It seems Houston is giving not only the Mets, but the Yankees fits too. They just had a no hitter vs the Yankees. I am not surprised Verlander is good. But I am surprised by Houston's other pitchers. I wonder what is wrong with the Dodgers of late? With that lineup no manager is likely safe. SD is right there, how I have no clue. Imagine of Boston managed to sneak in and get the WC and were to upset the Yankees. Unreal. The Mets will make it with Buck. Not predicting playoffs. Just that they will be in it

kingzoso
Hey Rick. The Cardinals hit 4 consecutive home runs today in the top of the 1st inning against the Phillies. Only the 11th time in MLB history that this feat has been accomplished. Arenado, Gorman, Yepez and Dylan Carlson. However, the Phillies came back to tie the game until Arenado hit another solo home run in the top of the 9th to win the game. The Cardinals lost yesterdays game to the Phillies but Arenado did hit for the cycle.

I just think Milwaukee has a better rotation and that is why I pick them to win the central. I wish we had Pittsburgh and the Reds to feast on. Our record would be far better. But my team is getting better by the minute. Mountcastle. Remember that name. He should make the all star team. Also Hayes, Raushman are two other kids to remember . Next year our starting rotation should be Means (Tommy John this year) Wells (on fire, 7-4 now), and Kremer who pitch's today. Yankees and Houston are on a collision course in AL. The NL will come down to Dodgers, Braves, Mets and maybe Padres or Brewers. Dodgers are the best team. On paper. Atlanta is coming like Xmas Paul. Look out Better times are ahead for my Orioles who have done a very good rebuild and pretty fast since their visit to the ALCS with Buck. I would like to see Buck win . He deserves to. But I am not sure the Mets can beat the Dodgers or if Atlanta can pull off what they did last year. The Dodgers cannot stumble. If Houston plays the Yankees in the ALCS it going to be some series. Not that I care for either team. The White Sox went to SF and swept them. Now they return home to face the Twins and I believe the Sox and Cleveland are going to be right at their heels by weeks end. When the cream rises to the top the White Sox should be there The Marlins have been playing pretty well. they have two pitchers I wish my Orioles had. Lopez being one. Strider
Another 4th of July and the Angels are below .500 as usual. I think I can count on one hand the number of times the Angels have been at .500 or above at the All-Star break during Mike Trout's career. Mike Trout is destined to go down as the most inconsequential great player since Don Mattingly. All those gaudy numbers and what has it meant? Diddly squat. They should win today with Ohtani pitching. Him and Trout are two they can build around. I love the fight my Orioles have. And not only do they not quit, they are in a tough division and when they get John Means back next year they have at least 3 kids developed now as starters. Wells, Kremer are solid. Now Watkins pitch's today vs what will be a very pissed off Texas team. Texas has played above expectations this year. We have one more win than them but lets not forget the trash of a division they are in. They get to feast on the A', along with Pittsburgh the worst two in the game and the Cubs not far behind. My Orioles are no longer the worst team. And soon they will return to contention. I will write it in blood here. paul carruthers
The funk the Mets offense has been in lately is starting to remind me of last year's squad--and that ain't good. Pete seems to be in one of those funks where he's swinging over the top of every breaking ball someone flips over the plate. Such a shame to waste that great outing by Scherzer... LedZeppfan1977
Yeah, whats up with the Mets? Id be worried if I were you. Atlanta will not go to sleep. They will decimate you if given the chance. The Sillies will shoot themselves in the foot. And the Marlins, are so quietly creeping up. They have some pitchers I wish my team had. Lopez being one. The Marlins have won 6 in a row. Very good for them They lack hitting also but have good pitching like I said. Atlanta is 2.5 back. Yikes. Seattle is another pain in the ass. They are on a streak but nobody is going to catch Houston. The Yankees worst nightmare. NO hit them. Fucking KC had a 5-0 lead go up in smoke. My W7 on the Streak game on ESPN got fucking torched by the Blue Jays losing to that pathetic team in Oakland. Back up to 3 and too Nadal at Wimbledon today. The kid that is number 11 might beat him? Who knows ? I dont follow tennis much. Now that Maria Sharapova is gone. Man did I have a crush on her That kid Gilbert is now 10-3 for an average Seattle team. No doubt a big shot at the AL Cy Young Edited July 6, 2022 by LedZeppfan1977
