JMH Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 The ascend of a lead zeppelin. Heavy stuff! Quote
Cookie0024 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Looks like Peter Whitehead's footage finally found a home. His estate had been hoping to strike a deal with Led Zeppelin that would lead to the footage emerging for the festival's 50th anniversary in 2020 but that sadly never happened. Quote
GeorgeC Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 What's really revealing here is how low-key everything is backstage - just another bunch of early-70s hippie Brits hanging out before their gig. No security, no entourage, no press (except for the person shooting the film). Compare this to the 2007 O2 show, when LZ had long become permanent legends and the event was treated like the Second Coming of Christ. Looks like Rock Gods were once ordinary mortals. Thanks for sharing this. Quote
ohjimmy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 This footage is mind blowing!! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m speechless. Quote
badgeholder Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 OMG. You have got to be kidding me! After fifty years of rumors, we see it at last. Unbelievable. They're using the clap-board, so there has to be audio somewhere. Either way, what a treat. Fantastic quality. That shot at 4:18 in the second clip, wow, LZF has to synch it up! Quote
Walesdad Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Simply incredible that this even exists and we are able to see it. Thanks a lot for sharing. Quote
Cookie0024 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I've been able to confirm those videos are the Peter Whitehead footage that was previously thought to be too dark to use. I'm told by someone familiar with the footage that there is around 5 minutes of footage filmed after the sun set that hasn't been published to YouTube. Quote
ZepHead315 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 @ledzepfilm synced the audio of the show to this footage. What an incredible day for Zeppelin fans! Quote

zeplz71 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 So the "it's too dark" thing wasn't really it. The short clips weren't really usable for release it seems? Quote
MarcosMJJ Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Probably these footages will appear in the documentary now in the final edit Quote
luvlz2 Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Amazing to see this footage appear after all these years! Quote
3hrsoflunacy Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Fantastic, thanks to all involved! Quote
The Only Way To Fly Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Aw man - I wish there was more of the acoustic set. Regardless its BEAUTIFUL footage. Quote
badgeholder Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Thank you, Led Zep Film, the synch is great. God, that footage of Bring it on Home is just electrifying, I can't wipe the smile off my face, this is total holy grail stuff Quote

SuperDave Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 This is awesome and so clear and well filmed footage. Just want to hear great audio with it and I'll be in LZ Nirvana! Perhaps, we'll get a surprise when the doc comes out....like a audio concert. We can dream! Quote
