rm2551
A very merry Christmas to all. Ham, chicken, prawns, with a home made fried rice for lunch. Sensational.

We did well, my sister had 9 lb roast - for only 4 of us. I made a big batch of potato pancakes the next day...

It always used to be but the wife does not eat it. I love lamb chops with mint jelly. I bought these lobster ravioli I will use with white clam sauce. I also bought these spinach and cheese ravioli with alfredo sauce. If I get anything special for New Years Eve, maybe some clams or scallops? Not sure. Crab legs are off the charts. As are Lobster Tails for what you get and Alaskan Halibut the same. Happy New Year.

Scallops are my favorite seafood, but not at the price they are lately. They keep trying to re-introduce seedlings to local waters, but it looks like they'll never recover. Do you use Rana pasta products? I've been finding them to be a nice variety and almost always on sale.

I like scallops but the bay scallops are of course not as good, and nor as expensive

You don't seem to miss much, whether it's good food or music. I don't think we've been out for seafood, since early last year. I'm sure the wife would jump on that, maybe I'll treat her soon. Things have changed since pandemic 2020. Three of my favourite seafood joints have closed since then. Fresh seafood seems to be harder to come by in the local markets and I don't have time to go down to the fresh fish markets at the beach. I don't go out to restaurants as much as I used to do. One of my faves has reopened and they had great scallops, but I have yet to visit as they are kind of out of the way. I should rectify that soon. Having lived in the same area all my life, it's heartbreaking to see some things that had family activity memories gone now. Seems down by the water is the most hard hit.
