2023-2024 NFL Season Thread

As if Thursday Night Football wasn't bad enough, now the Shield is taking about flexing games & having certain teams play multiple Thursdays. It's a giant cash grab obviously, but maybe I shouldn't rail too much about it--because, like many--I'll keep tuning into the NFL. Although, I have made it a habit the last few years to generally avoid the Thursday tilts, but somehow this seems like another bad idea that the NFL will get away with because it is the most popular sport in the USA....

It's a terrible idea.

Baltimore is playing games with Lamar, he IS representing himself in the negotiations... Carr signed with New Orleans and they still have Winston as their backup. I don't believe Kamara will be playing to start the season, he is facing some legal trouble and will probably be suspended 4-6 games by the league, IMO.

If Carr can play well, Saints will be better and have one of best defensive units.

Between Aron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers, and the NY Jets, I've come to the conclusion I hate them all.  The first two are easy, and the Jets are just plain stupid for even entertaining the thought.  Mortgage your future on a 40-year-old has been that will be lucky to make the top 10 of AFC quarterbacks.

I'll admit it, they got me on this one.  I even alerted a friend before finishing the article.  https://detroitsportsnation.com/breaking-detroit-lions-sign-qb-cam-newton/wgbrady/nfl-lions/detroit-lions-news/04/01/2023/400169/

Agree about the hating Rogers and Jets.  Why the hell would the Lions get Cam?  I assume as a backup for Geoff?  As long as he stays healthy and in the lineup, I believe the Lions will win that division for first time in years.   They are easily the best team in the division now.  This coach has done a great job.  Lets hope they do well in the draft

^^ Good grief, well--if that is true--I'm sure it won't hurt the league's bottom line in anyway & that's all that probably matters to the head honchos running the Shield, whenever they come up with yet another gimmick...

Don't hold me to that one.  I only heard half the conversation on the local sports channel.    NFL 'Sunday Ticket' headed to YouTube for 2023 season (espn.com)

I guess the national nightmare is now over--he's officially signed with the Jets...

Bring his ass on.   Maybe we should hammer him like they did Josh.  Return the favor and knock his ass out.  I am not really high on the TE pick by the Bills.  Some are. The WR they got in later rounds sounds ok.   The CB is the guy I am hoping works out.  We need depth at CB

^^ It's all the Jets fans who now flexing about going to the Superbowl that keeps me amused. I think I get more enjoyment out of seeing the Jets suffer than any other team...

:D

Their defensive line is the  one thing to fear  for  both our teams.  I dont fear Rogers.  Sure he makes them a bit better.  But I do not think better than Bills or Miami.  NE yes

I haven't been paying much attention, but apparently the NFL has released the 2023 schedule & once again, the Cowboys are on in primetime, Week 1, Sunday Night. And all I could do was yell at my monitor, why am I not surprised???

😏

paul, the Cowboys are "America's Team."
Climb on board the Silver Star!
Michigan and Charlotte are teams I'll be keeping up with due to
the local connections.

If Tua can stay out of the concussion zone...... who knows?

Schedule is out!!  My Bills open at Rogers and the Jets.  Will be a circus.  6 prime time games and one in London for Bills.  Must play at KC, Cincy and Philly.  All road.  Bye is late.  That is good.  Dallas and Giants will be fast sell outs in Buffalo.  One ESPN expert picks a Bills over Dallas Super Bowl.  Oh yeah.

The Lions have sold every ticket for this upcoming season.  According to Vegas, their over/under on wins is 9.5.  I'm fighting off the urge to visit MGM to make that bet on the under.  My friends are all aboard the bandwagon insisting this era 'feels different'.  I'll protect my football nuts until I see proof.

Typical Raiders. Season about to start and it is chaos. 💩

So, has anyone made the jump from Directv to Youtube for the NFL? I'm just going to watch the games I get on my free Fox, CBS, and NBC channels and whatever games I can pick up from my Canadian and UK sports channels and the streamer feeds my brother hooked up for me.  Not paying $500 or whatever it is they're charging for NFL ticket now.
