right-there Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 This show has been around for a long time with 'washy' video. BiginV3gas worked some magic on the picture quality, and it is markedly improved. I have applied [tisdu] audio, and... ditto. I can provide a link on request. Michael Quote
Danny S Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Thanks for the Seattle show! I know I said it, but the sound on these are unbelievable. I looked at my other Knebworth version then switched to yours, and the sound was so much, bigger. Quote

PinkyToe Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Seattle got a bad rep for quite some time but on a technical level it is a decent show. The problem with Seattle is it was a bit sluggish and plodding, Jimmy is not as active in movement as he was in NY, LA, or many other 77' gigs. Jimmy played fine for the most part, just uninspired. Even so, these upgrades truly show Seattle was a good, if rather lackluster gig. Great job RT. Hat's off to you! Quote
right-there Posted September 17, 2024 Author Posted September 17, 2024 Me and Roy Harper in the same phrase! Thanks Pinky Toe. Much appreciated. It's a pity there weren't more filming jobs done on the '77 tour. It's a pity more weren't done on every tour! I guess we've got used to bands having official and unofficial visual recordings of their shows being par for the course. Look at the 2007 02 Arena show, and even that's now 17 years of audio visual technology advances ago. Stadiums used to be lit up by fans holding cigarette lighters, now that sea of audience lights is mobile phones filming. Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell had nowhere to hide! Speaking of multi-cam shows, I have a [tisdu] audio version of that 02 Arena show with video compiled from 15 sources. If you're interested I can put it up here in the next 3 or 4 days. Thanks again for your take on the Seattle upgrade, acknowledgement here also to BIV for his improved-video work, Michael Quote

gcczep Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 The vid isn't as muted color wise IMO. Really good version. Quote

There's no doubt BIV had a lot less to work with compared to his re-renderings of Earls Court 24 and 25 May 1975, and the Knebworth shows in August 1979. But he's definitely managed to get some edge on the visuals, extra definition in what previously often looked like spilled custard. I'm glad you found this a "really good version" because no matter how much more 'oomphh' [tisdu] brings to the sound, three hours of spilled custard was often a big ask. Michael Quote
Ian Smith Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Oh this is a killer show and amazing to watch. Cheers to you Michael and huge and sincere thanks. Plant's voice on Sick again is killer! Quote

Badgeholder Still Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I believe the BIV editions have to be considered definitive versions of their respective content, at least for now. The BIV OGWT/Firm/80's collection is incredible. Quote
