the 'bad' reunions, not exactly Led Zeppelin

right-there

Live Aid 1985, Atlantic 40th Anniversary 1988, the Hall of Fame 1995, all shows that lured the surviving members of Led Zeppelin back on stage for one-off performances many fans and the band themselves long considered dreadful.

These [tisdu] audio versions supported with the video for each show can't fix the flubbed notes, correct the sound-mixing screw-ups, or convince Jimmy Page after all these years that Phil Collins didn't royally muck up "Rock and Roll", but they can present the shows with an enhanced dynamism to the sound of the performances.

Judge for yourself. Links available.

These shows have only been available here for 24 hours or so, and as soon as they were listed, I direct messaged previous recipients of sets with HQ video and [tisdu] audio to let them know. Heard back from a couple so far.

"Hey Michael, man thanks so much for the links. Sorry for the delay in responding, these days have been a bit busy! Whenever you have something new you can send it to me, I liked them all so far."

"It's very clear and good sound, didn't see this in a long time. Thanks."

"...sounds much better than it did on the TV."

Good to hear from fellow fans enjoying the sets in a fresh presentation. It's also good as someone who myself hadn't looked at the videos for a long time to see that, while the band may not recall the performances with much enthusiasm, onstage the band were pretty much all smiles with each other.

Check the shows out. You'll see them and hear them freshly.

I’m interested in these. I went to the Live Aid and Atlantic Records 40th shows.

Hi Likecats.

Link is on its way. I was at Led Zeppelin's show at Kooyong Stadium, in Melbourne, in 1972. And sat up all night (here in Australia) waiting for Zep to take the stage at Live Aid. The band is intertwined with so many lives.

Thank you! Looks like I can’t open them on my mobile device but I should be able to with a desktop.

Hi. I'm a bit moored in the past tech-speaking, so I've never tried to open such files on a mobile, but if you have any problems on the desktop let me know. If you have VLC it cuts to the viewing chase in most experiences shared here.

Thanks so much for sharing these!   I can play them just fine on my desktop.   I enjoyed watching the Live Aid and Atlantic 40th sets again.   I know those are not remembered fondly by some folks and there were definitely some glitches in the performances but they had their hearts in it and being there in person in the moment was priceless for me.    I look forward to watching the RnR Hall of Fame show.

Hey Likecats,

Thanks for your response to the sets. "Priceless" is almost certainly the word to describe being there, for someone like me whose country only ever saw one Led Zeppelin tour to Australia in 1972. I was at the Melbourne concert, so I guess I made the most of it.

I recently reassessed these shows as new audio and video sources have come to light and my opinions have changed, somewhat. Live Aid they just sounded tired which made sense as both Page & Plant were in the middle of their respective tours. They really did not practice much and a coked up Phil Collins did not help, though he did not muck it up as much as reported. The actual playing (outside of Collins) was fine, Jimmy did not miss any notes or sound a mess, in fact he was pretty on point, just tired and uninspired. The gig was just limp. Atlantic 40th was much better than I remembered and the first time I heard the audio with full sound and keys. When I watched it during original broadcast there were no keys so Kashmir was just guitar, drums, and vocals. Playing wise they were ok until the end when Jimmy shits the bed during Heartbreaker. The RnR HOF I thought was awesome the first time I saw it at broadcast and I still think it absolutely brilliant. That was what rock and roll is all about, a bunch of friends throwing it all out there, having fun, and not giving a single F. Neal going apeshit during Levee and Robert / Jimmy eating it up, laughing their arses off. Out of the three, the RnRHOF was my favorite and still think it one of the best performances that anemic turd "HOF" ever put forth.
