Throughout his career Robert Plant has turned up... just around the corner from his full-on tours.

And then unexpected things happen. The recent first complete performance of 'Stairway to Heaven' since the 02 Arena with Andy Taylor from Duran Duran comes to mind.

And this show, the benefit concert for Arthur Lee, a musical hero of Plant's. On June 23 2006.

Setlist: In the Evening, Bummer in the Summer, What Is and What Should Never Be, Old Man, For What It's Worth, When Will I Be Loved (with Ian Hunter), A House Is Not a Motel, Can't Help Falling in Love, Hey Joe, 7 and 7 Is, Ramble On. Encore: Thank You.

This set is from the "We're Doing It For Love" show which was a medical fund raising benefit for Love's Arthur Lee, who was uninsured and undergoing treatment for leukemia at the time. The house band, Ian Hunter's as it happens, backing Plant is called The Rant Band. It features Andy York (John Mellencamp's lead guitarist),Tony Shanahan (Patti Smith's bass player), Steve Holley (Paul McCartney & Wings drummer), James Mastro (guitar), Andy Burton (keyboards) and guests Johnny Echols (guitar) and Ian Hunter (guitar, vocals).

If only even one person with one camera had been there to record the show. If only...
