right-there Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Well, the title makes a pretty big claim. There have been three albums with female lead singers, and each album's had a different one... singer, that is. All excellent voices, which may explain the "Oum Kalsoum" reference, especially with almost all vocals in Arabic. The music of the band is driven by drums and a soaring/slashing/binding violin, which hasn't got a lot to do with Pink Floyd's sonic signature, but a listen or two indicates what the original commenter may have been thinking, in terms of scope, dynamics, and sweep. "Joy Division"? There's always been a street edge to Orange Blossom, a hint of fever in the music, something urgently pushing to get out, and then, it does. Intrigued? Interested? Sceptical? Have a watch and listen. Links provided on request. Quote

It gets lonely down here (under), although Coldplay were just through. (I don't do emojis, but... bemused snark???) OK, trusting you are not president of Coldplay's fan club, if you'd like to revisit Orange Blossom live, the videos are in a folder (I'm sending a link through directly) along with some other artists lumped together in a over-folder currently known as "Various". Most of my downloadables are Led Zeppelin, Page and Plant, with some Pink Floyd lurking in there, too. Michael Quote
right-there Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 I should've mentioned, if you don't hear echoes of "Kashmir" when you listen to this band, you ain't listening. Quote
