Naw..he meant Jethro Dull. The band released a live album back in the 70's down in LA. It was titled "Bore 'Em At The Forum".

:P

What a riot he was. the poor bastard had to get out of show business because he could never shake loose from the Jethro image. Many think he is dead for some reason. he is in Vegas last I heard living the casino life.

Lords Of The New Church (Stiv Bators rules!)

Bangles (the first album is top notch)

Cramps (really a 70's band, but very productive in the 80's)

Sonic Youth

U2

Kingdom Come (got slagged for bein Zep-ish, but they sounded very 80's anyway. I still love their debut record)

Metallica (I don't care for 90's and 00's stuff, but find it diffucult not to love Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets)

Mötley Crüe (SHOUT AT THE DEVIL!!!)

Lucinda Williams

Steve Earl

Iron Maiden

Tom Verlaine

That's what I come to think of for the moment.

Wwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Im not an 80s basher either. Just a 90s basher. And Aerosmith is definatley a 70s band. I saw them 3 times in the 70s. First 3 albums were absolutely fantastic. Dream on and Mama Kin (1), Train Kepta Rollin, Same Old Story Same old Song and Dance (2) Walk this Way, Sweet Emotion (3).

Well I'm not a 90's basher. I agree with U2 as a favorite

I believe you are quoting Robert Plant with the "Bore 'Em At The Forum" reference. Interesting Page and Plant recruited Tull drummer Barriemore Barlow to drum on a couple of projects.

That was ME!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D ......I seriously don't think Patti is a 70s artist....she "matured" artistically in the 80s.....but that's me!! :)

Rob

Hey Rob, Sorry about the knucklehead comment. I cleaned up my original post, but you caught the original. Sounds like you are a Tull fan, so I gotta cut you some slack.

I had a look at some of the bands I saw live in the 1980's...... by my thinking only 4 of those were created in the 80's The Firm but with members of 70's bands, Megadeth and Bon Jovi..and I fu***** dislike Jovi (what the hell I was I doing going to see them :) ) and GNR !!

Robert Plant,

The Firm,

Whitesnake,

Deep Purple,

Def leppard,

Bon Jovi,

Pink Floyd,

Iron Maiden,

Queen,

Diamond Dave

Motorhead,

U2,

Big Country,

UFO,

Blackfoot

Billy bragg,

Hawkwind

Yngvie Malmsteen

Megadeth

Mountain

Santana

Michael Jackson

Quo

Mamas boys

Kiss

Aerosmiff

ACDC

Guns 'n' Roses

So I guess Megadeth and Guns'n'Roses are my faves from that era as U2 were created in the 70's too although I think of them as 80's !!

U2 were formed in '79 but didn't release their debut until '80 so I figured they qualified as an 80s band.

Hey Rob! Just awful what happened at the last place I saw you. When I check back occasionally, it's like a graveyard - with one idiot still ranting to himself there. A disgrace to that band, I would say! Very active forum here - and you don't feel like you have leave just because you think a little different. Be well, and let it all hang out!

U2 was actually formed officially in 1977 (the prototype band "Feedback" goes as far back as '76), and started recording demos (which I have) in 1978.

Sorry, just HAD to be a smartass. Again.
