Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake chatted with Decibel magazine about the highly-anticipated release of their newest effort obZen. With a planned European release of March 7, 2008 courtesy of Nuclear Blast (U.S. will see a March 11 release contrary to a previous report), buzz has been building about what unique sound Meshuggah will unleash.

Commented Haake: "The album is much more dense, while still being very clear and audible as far as drumparts and guitar riffs. Lyrically it's quite different from Catch Thirty Three, more diverse. There is, however, somewhat of a 'red line' or concept running through all of them."
