AllisonAdler
Well I have read this entire thread and no one has said that Jimmy denied the possibility of a tour. People have said that he didn't confirm a tour, which is precisely how I interpret "I can't give you any news on anything at the moment." I'm sure that if he had any news and felt at liberty to offer it, he would have done. Obviously he didn't, so it seems to me that people should respect that. fortunata811
Maybe there should be a "thread for the hopeful". I thought that would be the "possible rumors" thread or some of the "what if…" "dream tour…" threads but it's not. This way, those who don't want to have to keep reading about the unsubstantiated rumors that are popping up in so many of the threads could avoid them and those that want to post about their excitement that a tour will happen and come to their town, what they'll play, etc. can do so without muddying up the other threads with it and without fear of getting flamed. I am hopeful they will all do something together in the future. They've all mentioned how great it was to play together again and anyone who was lucky enough to be there or has seen the clips can see they were having fun together again along with Jason. At the very least, I hope that that Jimmy will do something soon because I would really love to see him live. He very clearly still has the energy and the desire to do it and to see that wasted just kills me. I believe hoping is for times that you don't know what will happen; once there is certainty, hoping becomes planning or simply moving on. So I guess until Jimmy comes out and says that the O2 was incredible and they feel it's the best way they could hope to wrap up the legacy of Led Zeppelin or until Robert says that what's around the corner is another album with T-Bone or Strange Sensation, and he has no desire to perform with Jimmy, Jonesy, and Jason again, I will continue to hope. Without any offence to anyone, it can be kind of scary here for a hopeful and a new member to the board. Some of threads get so ugly that you want to log off and not come back. I'm not even sure I'll come back after posting this (but I would miss the Captions and the all the old interviews and information that gets posted by some of the incredibly knowledgeable people on this board). oceangal
After lurking around this forum for a while I decided to join it because the members seemed to enjoy intelligent logical discussion, but also had threads of utter silliness which I love. As a new member I have never felt threatened or looked down on which is prevalent in other forums, as is illogical, vitriolic ranting and sniping, which can make one afraid to post. I don't enjoy that kind of behavior. I don't visit those forums. I had decided not to revisit this thread as further discussion seemed pointless. Jimmy said nothing will happen until fall and I find it exhausting to maintain that level of excitement. After seeing the posts jump in number I got curious about what could generate that much posting, good lord was I shocked. What happened to Jeanne could have been predicted by anyone who's ever seen or read National Geographic. Don't attack the Silverbacks or disrupt the group's unity. You will be beat on and kicked out of the family group, alive if you're lucky. After all, we aren't all that far removed from apes.
Styrbjorn
How exactly did JakeHolmes know Jeanne was banned and had "her" profile removed, when "he" hadn't looked at Jeanne's profile? Interesting how someone with just three posts is defending someone who had most of their 30 posts in this topic. Can we get an IP check already? Internet schticks are pretty lame. Amen. Perhaps we need Sherlock more than Jake? And by the way Mr Holmes, I'll join any Led Zeppelin Forum I like including this one. I'm all for free speech... liberal that I am. Yeah, that was subtle wasn't it? "Just a new member here...watching from the sidelines.." What's gets lost in all this speculation about Jimmy's intentions, and the fact that he hasn't denied a world tour, is the fact that they are trying to promote Mothership....why the hell would you kill your hype machine by saying "sorry, no plans for anything beyond the O2!" Robert has an obligation that he will fulfill, and I don't think we'll here anything definite until that has begun to wind down, as well as the market push on Mothership. If a tour is to happen, it will be announced as the O2/ renewed Zep hype begins to wane. Rock and roll marketing 101 folks....
songbird
All they were stating--rightly in my view, though I admit (like them) that others see things differently--was that Jimmy did not state in positive language that Zeppelin was going to tour. That's it, that's all they were saying. Exactly, end of story! I don't understand why this has escalated into so much.
songbird
I Don't understand why certain people in this forum -which is by the way a Led Zeppelin FAN forum- would try to rain on everyone's parade that Zep might and most probably will do a tour. We're not "raining on anyone's parade".. JIMMY PAGE DID NOT CONFIRM A TOUR!! What the hell is going on here? Am I going mad? Did he confirm a tour and I just missed it?? At any rate - It seems certain people here actually don't want A Zep reunion tour - Maybe you paid too much to see the O2 concert, Maybe you want to think you're special and want to shut other people out from enjoying the Zep concert experience. Well I guess that's just gonna be too bad for you come September!! Go find someone elses dreams to stomp all over. And as a Final side note, What happened to that precious member Jeanne - I see you nay sayers have managed to gang rape her and have her removed from this site. Shame on you Dark souls for trying to crush a poor fan's dream. I say you are the ones who should be removed - for clouding up a true Zep lover's sun ray of hope that the the led Zep shall rise once again and gloriously sail through out the world. I did not go to the O2 concert.. and I was very depressed about it. I really want there to be a tour-- but that has NOTHING to with the fact that Jimmy Page did not confirm one at the press conference, which is all we're talking about here!!! All this "crushing a poor fan's dream" shit is pure fucking nonsense.
songbird
It's also pretty weak that you can only attempt to debate my identity instead of the actual content and truth of my message. Because there is none. And no one here is the same person as Knebby, or whatever you were suggesting. Can't you just accept that there's lots of people who have the same opinion and that you might *gasp* be wrong?
songbird
It isn't nonsense because you are completely overlooking the fact that when asked if there would be a tour he did not deny it either. So since even Plant and Page have not said no to a tour is a significant point that you and others feel the continual need to trounce upon with your self-righteous indignation. You also really should watch your foul language as you never know who is reading this and how old they might be. :computertrash: :computertrash: Have you even read this thread? How the hell did you come to that conclusion?? Does anyone on this goddamn board know how to read??????? I don't think anyone here is saying "No, Led Zeppelin is NOTNOTNOT going to tour no way", all they are saying is that in this particular news conference JIMMY PAGE DID NOT CONFIRM A TOUR. The members of Led Zeppelin have not CONFIRMED OR DENIED a tour. Thats all anyone in this thread has been saying. Why is that so hard to comprehend for some people? And I doubt very many 3 year olds are avidly reading this board and picking up any usage of the word "fuck."

euro
No it absolutely will not. It was passed over for this year's Grammy Awards' best albums categories, as it came out in October 2007. "Gone Gone Gone" however is nominated in the Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals category. http://www.grammys.com/GRAMMY_Awards/50th_Show/list.aspx For recordings released during the Eligibility Year October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007 Raisng Sand the album qualifies for 2009 Grammy. lajoie
Peace.........I come in Peace.....this thread has gone a bit off ...... Please reread the forum guidelines....they clearly state The Topic posted is what the content should evolve around. The Topic on the title of this thread is " Page interview in Japan to promote the Mothership" -----The forum guidelines also ask that you do not use profanity--that you basicly ought to keep it as~~* Postive & Contructive*~~ as you can.I am on this forum to enjoy information about the band: Led Zeppelin and show them my support as well. This is their Offical website. In many respects it is very informative and for the most part fun. Individuals who get on here to bicker are very sad Folks indeed. If you don`t Like Led Zeppelin and are not capable of Honoring them ,perhaps you can find something else a little more fulfilling in your life other then getting on here to spread negitive energy. This forum is for all ,long standing posters don`t own it nor do they have more right to it then more recent posters.Truth is if you`ve been posting here for along time then you ought to have the guidelines down so well you should be a dazzleing display of welcomeing graciousness to new posters. Perhaps thats just an issue of personal character. We are all individuals entitled to our own perspectives ,being tolerant takes strength and is highly comendable. Thanks! To all Lovely Day! IGG
This board existed for 5 years before becoming the "official" site, and alot of the members were here discussung the band when reunions were just the stuff dreams were made of. Fast forward to now, the world has crashed the party, LZ exists in a vague form, and tensions are running high as the band holds back on their intentions. Some of the tolerance issues are created by the long standing and more knowledgable members of the community being challenged by the newer "fair weather" types that don't have the sense to to figure out which way the wind blows before posting away. Taking into effect the stuff I've seen on other message boards, even official ones....this is positively tame. Try out an automotive forum, or any band forum comprised of mostly teenagers...you will have an eye opening experience, I guarantee. There are Led Zeppelin sites with a boatload more moderation than this one, it all comes down to what you want to get out of your community experience. Sometimes the freedom that we have here makes us get carried away, but i'd rather have the freedom to express a negative thought if that's my true feeling. Man, That pretty much about sums it up doesnt it? If people wanna act like royal flaming buttholes, let em go on ahead and do it. Doesnt really bother people who have been around a long time. However I do think others should call people on acting as such rather than ignoring it. Ignorance is not bliss. It takes away from the integrity of Led Zeppelin fans as a whole when we do it or when we tolerate it.
