manderlyh
Went to go to the gym, but I realized my iPod is dead. Yeah...last time I was there and it was dead, it was NOT preetty. The freakin' wall plug doesn't hold connection, so I had to jiggle the wall charger. How long does it take to charge an iPod? I started a load of laundry while I wait... Conneyfogle
Not enough shelf space for books! Well, not enough space for anything, period... Yet another reason to move out of my parents' house - it was built in 1928, and people back then obviously didn't have as much stuff as they do now because there is NO ROOM to put ANYTHING!!! I mean, over and above no good place to put the TV and the washer and dryer and other modern inventions, "storage" was just not in their vocabulary. Smallest linen closet ever, and the pantry? What pantry? And the broom closet is just that - enough room for a broom. And the clothes closets are just frigging stupid...instead of being rectangular so you can hang a pole across it which will fit as many clothes as possible, it's randomly square. So technically it's a walk-in closet because you can stand in the middle (if I didn't have crap piled up a mile high, that is), but there's only so much room for clothes on the short poles on the left and right sides. In my case, it's only on the right side since we put in some SHELVES!! on the left (what a novel effing idea!). I know I should just be happy that I have a nice, warm house to come home to, but I can't help but wonder why these people didn't want a slightly more comfortable house since they built it themselves and all. There's a large shed here you can put some stuff in if you like Edited January 22, 2010 by Conneyfogle
Cletus
Fucking commercials I'm sick to death of watching a Movie or TV show, and having a commercial cone on every 5 minutes. And the commercials go on for ever!
BUCK'EYE' DOC
We had a huge amount of snow over the weekend and are predicted to get another 6-8 inches tomorrow into Wednesday. So all of my patients for tomorrow morning called today to reschedule their appointments because they are afraid of going out in the snow! It hasn't even snowed a flake as of yet, and the roads are cleared from the weekend snowstorm. Who knows when the new snow will start and how much we will get, so why reschedule your appointment until it actually happens? Same with the schools canceling for tomorrow, before it even begins to snow! I wouldn't mind having the afternoon off tomorrow, too, but my PM patients are coming for their appointments, no matter what the weather, or so they say. At least I can sleep late tomorrow morning, provided that my dog won't get me up at the usual time.

manderlyh
My stupid contacts. I'm still annoyed that my contacts were discontinued. I've been wearing Acuvues, but for some reason they just fall apart! I hate them. I haven't been able to replace them with new contacts on schedule because one rips before it's time to replace them. Mandy, Did you ever try the Ciba Air Optix Night and Day lenses? They are the same as the original Night and Day lenses, just different marketing and packaging. And they have the Ciba "Aqua" lens treatment to make them more wetable and comfortable. That is the only difference. Your doctor should be able to get them for you. It is a common lens. They do cost more than the Acuvues, but they are a stiffer lens, less likely to tear. And they are a monthly replacement type of lens, whereas the Acuvues should be replaced every two weeks. The Acuvues are not designed to last as long as the Night and Day lenses. That could be part of the problem with them falling apart. http://www.airoptix....TIX_AONDA.shtml If you have trouble getting them, let me know. Electrophile
So yeah, what I thought was a twisted ankle is now a moderately sprained ankle. Oh joy. The medial malleous (that big bumpy thing on the side of your ankle) is all swollen and sore, so I can stand without pain and walk somewhat pain-free, but moving the ankle at all in a circular motion feels like the whole thing is on fire. Again, oh joy.

I did try them but decided to order the Acuvues because of the money issue. They got them for me, but I didn't order a box. I'm thinking about calling them and asking them about the Air Optix again. My doctor said the Oaysis were supposed to be a 1-month lens, but NONE of them have been lasting more than a few weeks. I have been taking them out every night. I have one that's torn AGAIN. When I posted that, I had just used my last brand new one. I'm only wearing the torn ones to work out with, (I can't handle sweaty face/glasses). As soon as my paycheck is here, (next week), I will be calling to see if they can get my the Cibas. So yeah, what I thought was a twisted ankle is now a moderately sprained ankle. Oh joy. Virginia
My computer seems to be circling the drain again I got yet another one of those Antivirus notices yesterday; ran a deep scan and now it's acting all whacked. I swear; give me 5 minutes with the individual who created that #@$* Antivirus malware; between home and work I am on at least the 4th round with that crap despite Vipre, which at least keeps it at bay longer than McAfee. I can't access my work email from home, which is not good, considering it's snowing yet again (another peeve...) and I may not be able to get in today. Why can't these hackers channel their powers to the good, instead of wreaking havoc?

I use the library computer and let them worry about the fuckin' virus sending assholes. My pet peeve (speaking of the library) I hate when you pull a book from the shelf and the book next to it falls on the floor.

Electrophile
If it was only the site, everyone would have that problem. Maybe it's a combo of this site and your browser. What browser are you using and what security preferences do you have? Have you updated any of them recently?

I use IE, always have and had no problems. Haven't changed any security settings. It started about a week ago. My security updates are on "automatic update" so I assume they've updated themselves. I didn't say no one else was having that problem. Maybe the problem is that you're using IE. Frankly, unless you're forced to because your office doesn't allow you to download any other browsers, you should be using Firefox. Between NoScript and AdBlock Plus, Firefox is almost lightning fast, with no buggy-ness. And I didn't mean security updates for your OS, I meant security settings for your browser. I don't use IE and haven't in years so I don't know where to go on that browser (I removed it from my computer) in order to find it, but isn't there a section under "tools" or "options" or something along that line that allows you to see what kind of security settings you have? You should download another browser and then access this site, because if you can get on it with no issues and you don't have to log in to see pictures or emoticons, then you know it's the old browser. If you still do, it's probably your computer.
