My wife went upstairs to find her with a pair of scissors in her hand, and the whole left-hand side of her long black hair on the floor!! So of course my wife had to cut the other half off to make it look sane. She actually looks very cute now with her boyishly short hair, if a little lop-sided... Before: After: Awww she's so cute! I did the same thing when I was 3. My little friends and I talked it over and decided that I needed a haircut ...so I stood on the bathroom counter and chopped half of it off. Haha! I remember my mom coming in to the bathroom and freaking out. Worked out well though, I had it cut into a Bob and obsessively maintained that look for a good 6 years!
