/ADVANCE/ MILWAUKEE, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Miller Brewing Company officials announced today that Miller Genuine Draft will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Jimmy Page and Robert Plant 1995 North American concert tour, which benefits Second Harvest.

The tour begins Feb. 26 in Pensacola, Fla. and will reach 35 cities in the United States and Canada before moving to Europe in June. Tickets for the first leg of the tour go on sale Jan. 21. The tour will return to the United States at the end of the summer for additional shows.

"MGD's long-standing heritage with rock 'n' roll is a perfect match for this historic tour," said Mike Hart, director of marketing services for Miller Brewing Co. "We're excited to be involved with the rock 'n' roll event of the year. We're also happy to support Second Harvest in their fight against hunger in America."

Miller Genuine Draft guarantees that a minimum of $100,000 will be raised for Second Harvest during the tour. A variety of activities are planned around the tour benefiting Second Harvest, a nationwide network of nearly 200 food banks that supply almost 50,000 local food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Miller Genuine Draft is donating more than 50 guitars autographed by Page and Plant for local Second Harvest food banks to auction as fundraisers, and food drives will be held at tour venues and the MGD Rock 'N' Roll Memorabilia Truck that will be touring the country. Additionally, in many markets front row tickets will be auctioned with proceeds going to Second Harvest.

"Speaking on behalf of 188 food banks that make up Second Harvests nationwide network, we appreciate Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and Miller Genuine Draft's efforts in helping us feed hungry Americans during this historic concert tour," said Christine Vladimiroff, president and chief executive officer of Second Harvest.

Miller Genuine Draft's Rock 'N' Roll Memorabilia Truck is a traveling exhibit featuring rarely seen Led Zeppelin keepsakes and souvenirs, as well as other items from rock 'n' roll history and virtual reality demonstrations. It will travel with the tour and make additional stops around the country. Special tour merchandise will be sold on board benefiting Second Harvest.

The Page/Plant Tour of North America follows the November 1994 release by Atlantic Records of the duo's "NO QUARTER" album, which has been certified (RIAA) platinum.

MGD MEMORABILIA DISPLAY: The traveling Miller Genuine Draft exhibit features a tribute to Led Zeppelin and has several rarely seen keepsakes and souvenirs from Rock 'n Roll history. Virtual reality demonstrations and an opportunity to make a donation to Second Harvest National Food Bank Network are also part of the display. The exhibit will travel the country with the tour and make additional stops when possible.

AMERICA'S HUNGRY BENEFIT FROM TOUR: More than 50 Miller Genuine Draft Page/Plant guitars will be autographed and donated to Second Harvest to help raise funds to benefit America's hungry. Additionally, an official tour T-shirt will be sold with profits going to Second Harvest.
