kidmoon
Here's the idea: Come up with any "What if" question you like. The next poster replies to the question in whatever creative way he/she chooses and leaves a question for the next person. If you think your answer is too clever, you might want to hold on to it and write a short story . So, the bar is set at mediocrity; now you have an excuse to be less than stellar with your imagination . What if Robert Zimmerman stayed in Minnesota and never became Bob Dylan? Robert Zimmerman would spend most of his life owning a car repair garage with his sons and lead a relatively Southern life with his wife in their nearby rusty cottage. Every night he'd sit out on his porch, in his lil ol' rockin' chair, and he'd rock as he played a tune-a-penny on his trusty harmonica, imagining what might have been... What if Robert Plant wasn't all he was made up to be when Jimmy heard him sing for the first time?

What if Robert Plant wasn't all he was made up to be when Jimmy heard him sing for the first time? Robert Anthony Plant would have found a good job as an employee of a Birmingham Blues Club which was frequented by the prettiest girls in town, he would have sung in a blues band, had five children and now live as the proud owner of the club, and occasinally sing with the Band he leads for 40 years. Jimmy Page would have tried to get Terry Reid as a singer, got beaten up as promised by his manager, gone to india to recover, found a 200year old magic and beautiful Djin lady who introduced him to the magic of the universe, and he'd still live immortal with his djin. John Henry Bonham would have flown across the ocean with Joe Cocker and then decided that he prefered to live with his family on his farm. John Baldwin would have earned a fortune with his studio work, setteled as a producer and recorded the Album of the Robert Plant Birmingham Blue Balls. Oh, and millions of young people would have another, probably worse soundtrack to their first kiss, their first joint, their first child... What if...Columbus had decided to stay on the lovely little place of earth he had discovered and made friend with the natives, and never told about his find? wanna be drummer
Well that was a boring answer... JFK would've put more troops in Nam and fucked this country up Robert Kennedy would've lived to be President, and a good one at that. MLK would have denounced tools like Al Sharpton and brought real equality to this country What if FDR didn't die in office? bigstickbonzo
What if FDR didn't die in office? "The Buck never was here." We may have invaded Japan...or we may have still dropped two nukes. The Cold War would have been drastically different because FDR, Churchill and Stalin would have had a handi-capped 2 on 1 no holds barred slugfest in Berlin. The term "lead zeppelin" would have been coined after FDR performed the "pre-Superfly" aerial assault elbow drop on Stalin's jugular, permantly altering his stache and thus, changing the Cold War forever. What if Apollo 11 crashed on the moon's surface..like it nearly did. Edited December 6, 2008 by bigstickbonzo
DeepBlackZeppelin
We still would have definitely used the atomic bombs, and then Franklin would probably insist with proxy wars on communism had he continued to live in the 1950's, and plump the scientific community up more to come up with more weapons. If Apollo 11 crashed on the moon, then there would be huge controversy in the Cold War, and the Soviet Union would use that against us. Then they'd try to charge us with the deaths of Buzz and Neil, and they would try to take advantage of our weakness there. What would happen if Albert Einstein created a hyperspace tunnel in America. And as for Wanna bee's question, well then the Atomic bombs wouldn't be created, and then we would have to fight in Japan, even more, and then it'd take a while for us to claim victory.
