Your're telling me, that you can't get 5.1 surround sound off of your'e PS3. Thank god i stol er... bought my 360. In all honesty, somthing up with you're setup. How do you have it hooked up

my son did a staight shot from the ps3 to the tv. my wife threw the book away b4 i could read it all. i don't know anyone who has it set up for surround. i guess has much as it cost it should.

So do you have a 5.1 surround sound setup?

Do you have a TV with an HDMI input?

IF yes this should work. I assuming you havent tried this.

From what i gather. The PS3 has two HDMI outputs and one Digital Audio output (optical)

To watch blueray in all of it's glory, you must use the HDMI to the TV. Now the audio. First you need a Digital Audio receiver. ( any receiver bought in the last five years should have this.) You need a digital audio optical cable. plug the one end into the PS3 and the other into the the receiver input. Any body at any store should point you in the right direction.

or try this

This is the users guide online. It's confusing. So the next one has pics.

There setup is diffent, but it still works.

This is the most importants thing. If you spend more than $20 for any cable. I would personaly come to youre house and punch you. Monster cable is for bad people. Speaker cables should be good, but a 500ft. roll of lamp cord for 25$ at Home Depot works as good as anthing you can buy.
