With a Black Dog in the first image at Headley Grange! How quaint! The only venues I've been in that Zeppelin played (unfortunately not at the same time) are Cobo Hall and the Silverdome (in Detroit and Pontiac, MI, respectively) and Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans, LA. Used to play hockey there on Monday nights, years ago.
SteveAJones
Replying with all the Zeppelin landmarks I've had the privledge of visiting would take me all day, so I'll just list those I've been to which appear in The Song Remains The Same: Hammerwood (segments of shoot-out sequence...co-owned by Page & Grant) Horselunges Manor (Peter Grant's moated country estate) Plumpton Place (Jimmy Page's moated country estate) Chequers Pub (John Bonham's local pub) Newark Intl Airport Boleskine House (Jimmy's fantasy sequence) Raglan Castle (Robert's fantasy sequence) Aberdovey Gwynedd (Robert's fantasy sequence...at sea) Old Hyde Farm (John Bonham's farm) Blackpool (John Bonham's motorbike ride at night) To complete TSRTS I just need to visit Robert's sheep farm on the Welsh border, John Paul Jones' former home near Devon and Madison Square Garden. I'm still seeking to confirm where the basement shoot out sequence was filmed (it was not done at Hammerwood...I have outtake photos and the room is different) and where John Paul Jones filmed his night ride on the horse (the local cemetary?) If I've overlooked a location it's because I'm going from memory at the moment. (Edit: A faithful Welsh fan has advised me the proper name for the location where TSRTS boat scenes were filmed is Aberdovey Gwynedd). AllisonAdler
I went to Pangbourne and got rained on! Had a nice lunch and better luck the second time. It was completely idyllic when I went! I got off the plane at Heathrow on an early September afternoon, rented a car, and drove straight there--I had a lovely tea outside at The Swan looking out over the river. Fabulous! SteveAJones
It was completely idyllic when I went! This summer there was a real estate agency offering what it claimed to be the boathouse Jimmy lived in. Had photos of it and everything. I had always thought it was damaged beyond repair by flooding shortly after he'd moved to Plumpton. There's an apartment complex on the site now, just down the hill from Pangbourne Station. Anyway, it would seem the boathouse, formerly his or not, was completely renovated.

I saw that and was very tempted to make inquiries--it wasn't all that much (I think offers opened at £250,000 or so). It did look rather nice! SIBLY
I've been to Knebworth. Actually, thinking about it, there were over 200,000 other Zepaholics there the same day I was.

FireOpal
Has anyone here made the pilgrimage to Epsom? I'd like to see the house where Jimmy grew up. My Zep site list is pitifully brief: Boleskine House, The Hyatt on Sunset, Whisky, and Rainbow -- strictly drive-by, except for the Riot House and Madison Square Garden. I'll spend a few days in London for the concert and I was thinking of renting a car to visit some of these places. Is there a place where I can find the addresses so I don't get lost looking for them? I don't want to knock on doors. Just have my picture taken.. Is there a place where I can find the addresses so I don't get lost looking for them? I don't want to knock on doors. Just have my picture taken.. There's a public footpath which runs right along the moat of Peter Grant's Horselunges Manor. I could'nt believe it. I got some great photos to go with the vintage ones I already had. His memorial was held at St Peter & Paul in Hellingly. Hammerwood is open for tours now. Plumpton Place is normally private; you'd have to be real lucky. Have a pint at The Half Moon Pub instead, which Jimmy used to frequent when he lived in Plumpton. Chequers Pub is a great place for a pint. Boleskine House is open for overnight stays now. Raglan Castle is open to the public. Old Hyde Farm is private. You could take a photo of the long driveway featured in TSRTS from the main road but don't bother the family. SteveAJones
Edited to add: does anyone have a pic of Rodney Bingenheimer's? Sort of? I have photos of Lori Maddix enjoying herself there, and a few others. If you get the dvd 'The Mayor of The Sunset Strip' it shows quite a few photos. I've seen more Pink Floyd places than Zep ones, I guess. I definitely want to go to Wales and see the sights next time I get over to Europe, though. The second time we went to The Rainbow, we sat in the big cordoned off table at the back, which was highly amusing for the sake of history. It's definitely an experience (though not one, I think, that I'd like to repeat again...). And FireOpal, I've been to Epsom, but not to the actual house since at the time, I didn't know what number it was!
