That's a lot of snow for over here, in fact I haven't had that much snow fall on my house since we left Chicago. Alpharetta never got that much snow. manderlyh Posted March 8, 2009 Share Posted March 8, 2009 (edited) I just bought two movies and didnt notice they were widescreen. So it doesnt fill the entire TV. I hate that. Does anyone know if it will still be that way if I buy a new HD flatscreen? With DVDs, it still has the black bar at the top, but there is a much bigger area that is shown than a regular TV. My HDTVs (we have a 42" Samsung plasma and a 32" Sylvania), have a "screen mode" button that allows you to change the view on the TV. This is especially good when you have a TV show that you're watching that's only been produced in the old format, because you don't get the picture filling up the screen. If you hit "screen mode," you can expand the picture inside the TV. ...and now, I'm going to watch the DVD that came from Netflix yesterday: Changeling.
