wanna be drummer Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 There's been a lot of unsung heroes in history, and here's where you can give them the credit they deserve Here's just a few of my favorites: Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton - They help make Aerosmith what it is! Brad is a stupendous guitarist, but few people know him General George Meade - Civil War General. Commander of the Army of the Potomac. He was the mastermind behind Gettysburg and essentially saved the Union in doing so. While he gets knocked for not finishing Lee off after the battle (there is a chance, that this was not possible), he was pretty successful in the Civil War. Honestly, I only became interested in reading about him once I found out I'm related to him John Paul Jones - While many of us here acknowledge him, the general masses mainly cared about Plant and Page. He deserves more credit than what he gets Quote

Evermore Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Sad thing is, when they are unsung, it's hard to figure out who should have been recognized without having been there. Quote
Suz Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Sometimes I still hear something new in Zeppelin songs, and it's almost always JPJ. Quote
Mangani Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Bob Paisley, late manager of Liverpool FC. Only man in history to have ever won 3 European Cups.......yet he never got a knighthood unlike those lot from Old Trafford, Manchester who get knighthoods just for farting. Quote
Northern Monkey Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Lee Renaldo from Sonic Youth. The Focus always seems to be on Thurston and Kim, but Lee does most of the 'inovative' guitar stuff. Quote
Gainsbarre Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 John Paul Jones - While many of us here acknowledge him, the general masses mainly cared about Plant and Page. He deserves more credit than what he gets Amen, but he's barely acknowledged on this forum...in fact I wonder if a lot of people on this board realise that he was in the band...90% of this board is about Robert Plant and Jimmy Page Quote
