If I see one more Che Guevara or Chairman Mao T-shirt wearing hippy I think I'm gonna smack them in the head.

How about the VW (Der people's car) driven by hippies worldwide?

:D

I fully support the 2008 Olympics. I'm not going to turn my head away from a worldwide celebration of sport for a cause that, in my eyes, is unrelated. I'm all for Tibet's freedom and everything. However, boycotting the Olympics is not the right way to do it. I'm a big fan of the games. I competed with Olympic gold medalists last summer in air rifle, and you can bet I'll be watching them. It's about the athletes, not politics.

'Meant' to. It never actually succeeded. You can be a supporter/admirer of socialism without the affiliation and love for Communism. Communsim was and is the worst form of socialism.

Oh my, such wit. I'm deeply hurt by your cutting remarks. It has really put me in my place.

Wow, you see, it's quite obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about...

Communism is the worst form of Socialism?? Do you even know what the differences between the two are? Probably not. All those "communist" countries that you hated were actually Socialist.

I'm not trying to be cutting or witty at all, more likely I'm just trying to console myself that the world is full of people like you, who can't rub two cents together upstairs.

You've shut your brain off, you've put the blinkers on, and your mouth just stars flapping. And you don't learn anything, all you do is just stamp your opinion over everything.

If you had intelligence, then you would've read my post and understood what I was saying and also recognised the facts that I put in them, and you would've agreed with me to a certain extent. That's why I don't think you are intelligent, or perhaps your ego is so inflated that there is no way in hell you're going to admit that I could be correct...

So which one is it?

I know plenty. The Communist 'ideal' bred despots. Fact.

Communism is the worst form of Socialism??

For sure.

Do you even know what the differences between the two are?

Of course.

Probably not. All those "communist" countries that you hated were actually Socialist.

I am not aware I actually gave you a list of countries that I 'hated'.

I'm not trying to be cutting or witty at all, more likely I'm just trying to console myself that the world is full of people like you, who can't rub two cents together upstairs.

Instead of intelligent well thought out responses, all you can do in almost every post (no matter who you are responding to) is to try and throw out personal insults, but you are even crap at that.

You've shut your brain off, you've put the blinkers on, and your mouth just stars flapping. And you don't learn anything, all you do is just stamp your opinion over everything.

Wow, Pot meet Mr Kettle. Coming from YOU I find that comment intruiging.

If you had intelligence, then you would've read my post and understood what I was saying

Oh I understood what you were trying to say but it simply doesn't wash. We aren't talking about pretense and supposition, we are talking about actualities.

also recognised the facts that I put in them,

No, the facts are that the evils of Communism deliberately killed circa 100 million people. Those are the only facts I need to know.

That's why I don't think you are intelligent, or perhaps your ego is so inflated that there is no way in hell you're going to admit that I could be correct...

So which one is it?

None of the above. People who wave the Commie Hammer and Sickle flag are absolute naive silly wankers yet to grow up and deserve to be flogged until their eyes pop out of their arseholes. :D

I am not aware I actually gave you a list of countries that I 'hated'.

You see, you don't want to deal with facts or information, because all you're interested in this shit:

People who wave the Commie Hammer and Sickle flag are absolute naive silly wankers yet to grow up and deserve to be flogged until their eyes pop out of their arseholes.

And you also said:

You can be a supporter/admirer of socialism without the affiliation and love for Communism. Communsim was and is the worst form of socialism.

Which frankly, is a dumb-ass thing to say, because you've been talking all these awful communist countries, and yet None of them were actually Communist, they were all Socialist

Remember you said this:

Communism was a barbaric, disgusting and brutal political organisation, wherever it went

Communism is not a Political Organisation: it's a social economic theory. Communist political parties would be the political organisation. But i wouldn't expect someone of your 'intelligence' to be able to make that distinction.

So after you said:

You can be a supporter/admirer of socialism without the affiliation and love for Communism

which was the biggest blunder in your 'argument', I pointed out to you that the so-called Communist regimes that you detested were, in fact, all Socialist regimes.

And when I pointed that out to you, you dodged replying to it by making some stupid pithy remark about "I am not aware I actually gave you a list of countries that I 'hated'." Yes and how was the show, Mrs Lincoln?

So like I said, you're not interested in the facts of the argument, because you're too interested in fantasies of whipping and beating people "until their eyes pop out of their arseholes". So I mean that goes to show what sort of person you are...

You know you sit on your sanctimonious little throne talking morality and the evil cruel communists, and yet here you are in the next breath saying anyone who even touches the Communist flag should be beaten til they are disfigured...

You're no better than the violent people you condemn. You're just like them. A student brandishing a communist flag, what have they done? Where are their cruel actions? Yet your response to them is to beat them up. Sounds exactly like what a fascist would say. I think you would've gone down extremely well in Nazi Germany, or any other political dictatorship for that matter. You would've been holding the whip higher than anybody. Stalin would probably have given you a medal.

Hey Gio, guess what? The world will never be perfect. Capitalism isn't perfect

so, do not paint it like the better thing...

My point is, if you analise the democracy and capitalism just by the first experience (French revolution under Jacobin Club) you also see something as atrocious as (or more atrocious than) 20th Century socialist's regimens.

And you can answer me "but in USA wasn't so". And i ask you, what about Civil War? What about USA killing peoples in all wars since WWI? What about suporting right dictatorships (including Sadam Hussein one) with millions and millions of deaths?

The "socialists" experiences that we know aren't so good, and I say they wasn't socialism , as well as Jacobin Club wasn't democracy, but capitalism is good just for who have money.

P.S. Jesus Christ said about the Pharisees "They usually see grain of dust in the eyes of other, but they do not see the bar in their eye"... I think it can explain better what I said...

Capitalism is perfect. If you can't survive, you die. Darwinism. the whole world is built on the strongest survives. The theory goes if you spread all the money around evenly, within a generation those who had all the money will have all the money, and those who didn't, won't have it. It just seems to me being homeless in the middle of Los Angeles is better then being homeless in some godforsaken 3rd world country. In USA you don't see millions of people sitting around in a muddy field. Yes there are homeless people, but how many of them being homeless was not their fault. A small majority. Capitalism is run by the people. Corporations only sell what the people want. Some people can't be helped, we can only help those who can be helped. Comunism can't work because man is flawed. So a system not basded on rules, but a majority will be the most usefull.

Where I come from a large percentage of the homeless are people who are mentally challenged and have been forced onto the streets because our government is shutting down the facilities that takes care of them so's they can put up more condos.

"They weren't socialism"...thats such a cop out. Then what the hell was it, if not a failed attempt

If you analyze communistic attempts just by the first experience (Russian Revolution under Vladimir Lenin) you'll find something thats more atrocious than anything capitalism has ever produced. Nazi Germany had a socialistic economy, as did Mussolini's Italy. Socialism has more skeletons than capitalism.

But seriouslly, those pictures...come on. I can find millions of photos showing the worst of Socialism, as well as capitalism, so pictures aren't really going to change anyone's perceptions here..

The blood in Russia came with the reaction...

To say Hittler and Mussolini had a socialistic economy is as dumb ass as to say China, nowadays, is a free Market economy...

But, Augusto Pinochet was the icon of new capitalism

I do not believe in democracy just in politic without democracy in economy, and i do not believe in socialism without freedom...

I fight since i was 15 Y.O. to end the misery and exploration of humans by humans, and i fought too much to get freedom in my country (and, coz it, I got some haematomas ... :))

The worlds yet to experience true moral capitalism. Thats the path I want the world to follow. Unfortunately, that'll happen (as will true communism) when pigs fly...

The Holocaust (from the Greek ὁλόκαυστον (holókauston): holos, "completely" and kaustos, "burnt"), also known as Ha-Shoah (Hebrew: השואה), Churben (Yiddish: חורבן), is the term generally used to describe the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, as part of a program of deliberate extermination planned and executed by the National Socialist regime in Germany led by Adolf Hitler.[2]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust

As a side note to the Holocaust, I uncovered this information in Wikipedia about the History of the Yellow Star that they were required to wear in Hitler's Nazi Germany:

In the early Islamic period, non-Muslims were required to wear distinctive marks in public, such as metal seals fixed around their necks. Tattooing and branding of slaves and captives were widespread in the ancient world. Lead or copper seals were used to mark non-Muslims and slaves in the Islamic world. Likewise, non-Muslims were not allowed to wear colors associated with Islam, particularly green. The practice of physically branding Jews and Christians appears to have been begun in early medieval Baghdad and was considered highly degrading. In many Islamic states, Christians and Jews were required to wear special emblems on their clothes. The yellow badge was first introduced by a caliph in Baghdad in the ninth century, and spread to the West in medieval times. In public baths, non-Muslims wore medallions suspended from cords around their necks so no one would mistake them for Muslims. Belts, headgear, shoes, armbands and/or cloth patches were also used. In 1005 the Jews of Fatimid Egypt were ordered to wear bells on their garments.

The earliest sumptuary regulations in Christian Europe were the Catholic church regulations of clergy, distinguishing what ranks could wear which items of vestments or (to a lesser extent) normal clothes on particular occasions; these were already very detailed by 1200. Next followed regulations, again flowing from the church (by far the largest bureaucracy in Medieval Europe) attempting to enforce the wearing of distinctive clothing or badges so that members of various groups could be readily identified, as branded criminals already could be. The groups covered included Jews, Muslims, heretics such as Cathars (repentant ones were made to wear the Cathar yellow cross), lepers and sufferers from some other medical conditions, and prostitutes. The enactment and effectiveness of such measures was highly variable - efforts to make lepers wear long whiteish robes were apparently not successful, as they are usually shown in pictures wearing normal clothes, but carrying a horn or rattle to warn others of their approach. The efforts to make Jews and Muslims dress distinctively date from 1215 or shortly before.

Jewish clothing

One aspect of medieval sumptuary laws was attempts to make the Jewish and other non-Christian populations identifiable by the wearing of special yellow badges or the Jewish hat conical hat, the latter having being initially a voluntary form of distinctive dress imported from the Islamic world. Canon 68 of the Fourth Council of the Lateran in 1215 stipulated that Jews and Muslims should wear distinctive clothing; avoiding sexual contact between the populations was the reason given. The Jews of Castile, the largest population in Europe, were exempted by the Pope four years later, but elsewhere local laws were introduced to bring the canon into effect. In much of Europe Jews were supposed to wear the Judenhut or a yellow badge in the form of a wheel or ring (the "rota"), or in England a shape representing the Tablets of the Law. Muslims usually were supposed to wear a crescent-shaped patch, or Eastern dress. Enforcement of these laws seems gradually to have dwindled, and the hat is not often seen in pictures after the fifteenth century, although the ring continues after that.

The yellow badge that was compulsory in the Middle Ages was revived in the 20th century by the Nazi regime in Germany, as part of a campaign of harassment of Jews that would later culminate in the Holocaust.

This man has gotten the shit end of the stick from this country. He looks to be a sailor who was mistreated when he got back from nam. But yet he decides to be patriotic and put a flag in his basket, while there is a man who got the best education possible, went to the best schools and most people in the country thinks he Will be the next president, will not wear a American flag on his Lapel because it's politics.

rover, this is not in early islamic period. this is post muhammad(PBUH), and for the most part muslims were tolerant of other religions. lets not forget that during muhammad's prophethood, jews had made an alliance with the quraish who had expelled the early muslims from mecca.

Of course not, they wear Kenny Chesney t-shirts, which is, frankly, even worse...

Kenny Chesney is not worse than Che Guevera, and his shirts aren't really in style.

Che Guevera tee shirts have become stylish and I know a lot of kids with them.

I don't know a single person with a Chesney shirt save a few soccer moms
