jimmie ray
I'll admit that Prince has a funk influence, but some other elements make him unappealing to me. Thanks, anyway!

myledzep
FUNKADELIC RUUULLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ TOO!! Oh yeah!!! When I was growing up, I wasn't into the whole Parliament-Funkadelic thing.....I was more into mainstream R&B bands like E,W&F, the Commodores, the OJays....however, my brother was and we'd get into endless debates of who was better/more popular and so on......it's only after I started college that I began to appreciate PF......and just a couple of years ago, I bought old Funkadelic cds (pre-One Nation Under A Groove.). Funkadelic's early work is amazing!!!! I discovered it late...but better late than never...... Other funk recommendations: The Ohio Players, New Birth (remember them?), Cameo, Slave, even EWF were somewhat funky back in the day before they hit the mainstream.
