albionremain
Does anyone remember Detective? I had both their albums. They have been referred to as "a poor man's Led Zeppelin". I thought they had a unique sound, though. Never quite got the "Recognition" they deserved...
lzzoso
Here a few songs by other big name Rock and Roll groups that have songs that, to me, have a very Led Zeppelinesque sound or feel to them: Aerosmith: "Seasons of Wither" "Lord of the Thighs" "the Hand that Feeds" Deep Purple: "Perfect Strangers" Fastway: "Say What You Will" Great White: "Sail Away" the James Gang: "the Bomber" "Turn to Stone" (actually 'solo' Joe Walsh) Queen: "Innuendo" Rush: "Here Again" Zebra: "Tell Me What You Want" "Who's Behind the Door" These are just a few groups that instantly come to my mind. With Led Zeppelin being probably the most "Influential" Rock and Roll Band of all-time, I realize that these groups and songs I just listed is merely a "drop in the bucket". I would like to see what other groups and songs that other people can come up with that are and sound very "Zeppelinesque" By the way, if anyone who reads this post is unfamiliar with any of the songs I just listed, you can very easily hear all of them on Youtube. Check them out and see if you agree or disagree with me.
a clockwork tangerine
I can't believe no one has mentioned Heart! The female version of Led Zeppelin. Dreamboat Annie is a masterpiece! Sing Child sounds a lot like The Crunge.

Zepaholic
The Tea Party I don't know quite why, but when I first heard this band I got a really Zeppelinesque feel. I was really sorry for myself that I didn't discover them any sooner (just like Zep) 'cause they don't exist anymore. I think they're heavily inspired by Zeps more eastern sounding arrangements, but also Zep in general (who isn't) and you can definitely hear (and see) it in their music. He even plays the guitar with a bow in Save Me ! A few examples: Sister Awake The Bazaar Walking Wounded Save Me Heaven Coming Down Geez, i wonder who Jeff Martins influences were??? I seriously love Save Me though, as blatantly pretentious as it is. Jeff is the best Morrison wannabe out there as well.

LZFord
- It's more Sabbath-like than anything but, Working Man - Rush - God Gave Rock And Roll To You - Argent (Kiss covered it but I still prefer Argent's version by far) - Going Down - Jeff Beck Group - Wishing Well - Free - Any Triumph song - Almost any Jethro Tull song - any song by The Guess Who - This might just be me personally but anything by Neil Young, especially songs from "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" - Any pre-80's Who album, same with the Stones, and Deep Purple - Rainbow? - Pre-Eliminator ZZ Top I can go on and on... lol

Led Zeppelin Fan00
I loved their sound. The production was great. Big and raw. The songs just okay. Was Page involved with production do you know? He produced their first, eponymous LP, 'Detective', under an assumed name.
lzzoso
I loved their sound. The production was great. Big and raw. The songs just okay. Was Page involved with production do you know? Thanks to YouTube, I have become more familiar with Detective's music. Of course I knew that Detective released a couple of albums under the Swan Song label in the late 1970's. I am not 100% sure if Jimmy Page had any thing to do with the actual productions of these couple albums or not, however, if you go to YouTube and type in Detective Fever and listen to this song you will instantly recognize the drums and guitar riffs to one of the biggest and best known Led Zeppelin songs. From what I remember, Michael Des Barres said that Detective was to sound as much like Led Zeppelin as possible. If Fever is not an example of that than I do not know what is.
