shadowblue
I'm definitely on for the Laycock show of that. G'day to all Well, I'm a real lucky guy. I joined and first posted just after I got my O2 ticket (posted my story in this thread this week link post #74). Mostly I've just just lurked mainly - post count only 13! I'd never thought there be some sort of Aussie group on this global board but slave pointed me in the right direction . I'd actually never gone off the Main Forum, usually on either the O2 page or maybe LZ news to see if there was any word about either a DVD or tour. I'm keen to have a look at Zeppelin Live too - sounds like they do a good show. I really love good live rock (not exclusively Zep but they are of course the greatest) and get out to see it when I can. Been doing that for more than 30 years now .Next week The Angels (original Face to Face / No Exit line up, with Doc) play the Davistown RSL here on the Coast, kicking off a tour that will go until early August (and I suspesct never again). You couldn't be a fan of our country's rock without respecting them, although I've got a fair idea that Doc isn't in anywhere near the form of old (unlike how Robert Plant was!). I'll let you know how it goes.

They played Take A Long Line on The Footy Show last night, a bit rusty but Doc was in good form and they would kicked arse live.

Thing is the other 4 guys have been going around for a few years as The Original Angels Band with John Brewster on lead vocal duties. They are really tight (and kick arse) - hopefully Doc will keep up. But it is the real thing with him in. I saw the Doc Neeson's Angels do one of their first shows after he got back in the saddle (a guitarist friend from here was in his band). He was even shakier then but has a real presence. I was talking to Rick after the Brewster Brothers did an accoustic show up here a couple of weeks ago and suggested to him the punters like me needed this for closure - like they disappeared off the face of the earth then there was all the legal bullshit. He said "I think we do too!"

Pfundtie
Hey all! I am a fellow Australian fan and, in the words of my sister, I've just moved from one side of the country where nothing happens, to the other. From WA to Tasmania. But anyway, it's all good and I'd also love to be included in any plans ever made to meet up since it's not that expensive to go up to the mainland...I think. Thanks Beth. zepyep
Hi all, These were posted on an unofficial but heavily utilised Australian Tourism Website and the answers are the actual responses by the webmaster, who obviously has a sense of humour Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia ? I have never seen it rain on TV, how do the plants grow? (UK). A:We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die. __________________________________________________ Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? ( USA) A:Depends how much you've been drinking. __________________________________________________ Q: I want to walk from Perth to Sydney - can I follow the railroad tracks? ( Sweden) A:Sure, it's only three thousand miles, take lots of water. __________________________________________________ Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Australia ? Can you send me a list of them in Brisbane, Cairns ,Townsville and HerveyBay? ( UK) A:What did your last slave die of? __________________________________________________ Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia ? ( USA) A:A-Fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe . Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the Pacific which does not ... oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked. __________________________________________________ Q: Which direction is North in Australia ? ( USA) A:Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions. _________________________________________________ Q: Can I bring cutlery into Australia ? ( UK) A:Why? Just use your fingers like we do. __________________________________________________ Q: Can you send me the ViennaBoys' Choir schedule? ( USA) A:Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is ... oh forget it. Sure, the ViennaBoys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, straight after the hippo races. Come naked. __________________________________________________ Q: Can I wear high heels in Australia ? ( UK) A:You are a British politician, right? ____________________________ ______________________ Q: Are there supermarkets in Sydney and is milk available all year round? ( Germany) A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of vegan hunter/gatherers. Milk is illegal. __________________________________________________ Q: Please send a list of all doctors in Australia who can Dispense rattlesnake serum. ( USA) A: Rattlesnakes live in A-meri-ca which is where YOU come from. All Australian snakes are perfectly harmless, can be safely handled and make good pets. __________________________________________________ Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Australia , but I forget its name. It's a kind of bear and lives in trees. ( USA) A: It's called a Drop Bear. They are so called because they drop out of Gum trees and eat the brains of anyone walking underneath them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking. __________________________________________________ Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Can you tell me where I can sell it in Australia? (USA) A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather. __________________________________________________ Q: Can you tell me the regions in Tasmania where the female population is smaller than the male population? (Italy) A: Yes, gay night clubs. __________________________________________________ Q: Do you celebrate Christmas in Australia? ( France) A: Only at Christmas. __________________________________________________ Q: I was in Australiain 1969 on R+R, and I want to contact the Girl I dated while I was staying in Kings Cross*. Can you help? ( USA) A: Yes, and you will still have to pay her by the hour.. __________________________________________________ Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? ( USA) A: Yes, but you'll have to learn it first KB Edited July 19, 2008 by zepyep
