Got a couple of CD's with the latest issue of ClassicRock mag.Joe Elliott,Def Leppard frontman, being a Mott The Hoople freak has constructed a band called "Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz",that consist of The Quireboys and Elliott.10 tracks of MTH,Hunter,Watts/Fisher/Fiddler/Benjamin/Major over the years material.Excellent stuff!!.

Second CD is from a British metal outfit called "Furyon" which doesn't have much new to my ears in the way of Metal. But,having said that, they do it very well indeed.

I'd like to recomend checking out UK singer/songwriter Pete Molinari. He's got a great voice I think. He has made three album, the third, A Train Bound For Glory, which is recently released. He played here in Sweden last June, but unfortunately I missed his gig..

Here's another one! Simply beautiful!

And this is IMO, a pretty cool song featuring the legendary Slash! Its quite self-centered but nice! And I ALWAYS listen to this song when I'm angry and truly feel like punching the source of my anger!

And yet another beauty :

I highly recommend the music of the Swedish band "Asteroid". They are this really cool Stoner Rock band with 2 albums under their belt. They sound like a combination of the bands "Graveyard" and "Black Sabbath". I took the plunge and purchased both of their albums "S/T" and "II". Awesome stuff!

I can't stop listening to their debut "S/T" and their second album "II" is just as good!

There is a spelling error in the second vid. The song is called "The Great Unknown"

If you like bands like "Graveyard", "Witch" and "Black Sabbath" or if you are a fan of "Doom Metal" or "Fuzz Rock" or whatever, you'll like "Asteroid"! :D

I have really been feeling this band I was just turned on to - Pure Reason Revolution.

I've been jamming their 2006 release The Dark Third - incredible.

A couple choice cuts from that album...

...continued from previous post

The great news is they just released their latest album Hammer and Anvil in Europe today, and it's scheduled for release in the US a week from today on the 25th.

Pretty sure I'll be buying it.

  • 2 weeks later...

I first heard about this band several years back when they did the opening honors for the now defunct Patty Hurst Shifter at King's in Raleigh. After catching Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit at the newly opened Casbah in Durham Friday night I slipped back over to Raleigh in time to catch the last few songs of their set (which included covers of Whole Lotta Love and Stranglehold) at Slim's. The band is Leslie from South Carolina who are also part of this writeup about bands from that state which includes such notables as Band of Horses.
