Dead Man - Ship Ahoy!/Thousand Mile Stare 7"

I'm just lovin' the artwork on this single, a great buy, shipped from Finland. This single was only pressed in 500 copies.

Damn, I've been looking for that single. Great find!

Two CD's:

I've already got this one on vinyl, but as I am away from my turntable and vinyl collection I need to bunker up with some CD's. Plus, this CD is remastered and includes eight bonus tracks!!

Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady

I also found this great compilation of one of my favourite girl groups of the 60's:

The Shangri-Las - The Best of The Shangri-Las

FINALLY got me some Drive-By Truckers! Pretty awesome. Love the song Daddy's Cup especially (figures...it's about car racing). Where the Devil Don't Stay and Carl Perkins' Cadillac are great, too, from what I've listened to so far.

Good stuff! If you like it you have to check out Decoration Day as well! B)

I've purchased a couple of blues and r'n'b 45's:

Slim Harpo - Shake your hips / Midnight blues (1966) Excello

Slim Harpo - Buzz me babe / Late last night (1959/60) Excello

Jerry McCain & His Upstarts - Listen young girls / Bad Credit (1957) Excello

Bobby King - W.A.S.T.E.D. / What a day what a night (1964) Federal

Garnet Mimms* - Prove it to me / I'll take good care of you (1966) United Artists

*on a sidenote, Led Zeppelin used to cover Garnet's As Long As I Have You.

Garnet Mimms - Prove it to me on youtube, great track!!

I will! I couldn't decide between that one and Dirty South, but I couldn't turn down a racing song (haha), so I went with DS, which I really like. This definitely won't be the last Truckers album I buy.

Ritchie Valens - Ritchie Valens

Entrance - Prayer of Death (2006)

Entrance-Prayer-Of-Death.jpg

A stunning album, I still need the first three albums of this artist/band.

The title track is a nice hymn, I really enjoyed this hymn song as well as the Fleet Foxes's song White Winter Hymnal, anyone know any other bands or artists that sing some songs with that sound?

I would suggest Fleet Foxes' label mates http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imaCBk0Bz4s,

or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXU12uCoW3U.

Another band that I really like, which in some ways have that kind of sound is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNdyenwmLYo, I especially recommend their latest album "New Seasons". Here's another Sadies tune called

which shows they really rock too!

Thanks for those recommendations. I LOVE Fleet Foxes! Great band.

I'd also add My Morning Jacket - not the same sound but there's some similarities in my ears to FF.
