Jarlaxle 56
1. Temple of The Dog- "Reach Down" Completely on the spot improvised guitar solo by Mike McCready, about 4-7 minutes long. Definitely my favourite Rock guitar solo. 2. Frank Zappa- "Rat Tomago" Definitely a bloody awesome solo, as the entire song is the solo. Frank Zappa was one of the best. 3. Pearl Jam- "Yellow Ledbetter" Epic song, one of the most emotion filled guitar solos I've heard. 4. Pink Floyd- "Comfortably Numb" Definitely a guitar solo staple, but still a really good guitar solo. 5. Audioslave- "Doesn't Remind Me" Tom Morrello kicks ass, nuff said' awesome guitar solo in this song.

Jarlaxle 56
6. Tool- "Jambi" Really kickass talk-box solo here, nothing but a great solo with a really creative tone. 7. The Mahavishnu Orchestra- "Noonward Race" John McLaughlin is God 8. Pearl Jam- "Even Flow" Another epic solo from Mike McCready 9. Opeth- "Blackwater Park" A real "punch you in the face" guitar solo 10, Nightwish- "Planet Hell" Very good segway from the orchestra to the guitar solo

AMAZONIC
My number one is definitely the long solo on 1.Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Awesome.I could listen this over and over and never get tired of it. It has a beautiful building up. Magical feeling when Steve Gaines joins Allen Collins almost at the end of the solo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mioGewkWVdo 2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd No words for it. Only listen, enjoy and dream. It's just too much. 3. Fade To Black by Metallica The intro is something special, priceless. It just makes me cry ..don't know why, but it has an emotional feeling to it. No LZ solos on the list. The choice would be too hard among too many great solos. Love them all for a reason or another. Any Jimmy's solo is unique, it never repeats itself.

Electrophile
I'm surprised you Pink Floyd fans haven't chosen "Time" as a great solo.....it's not as instantly memorable as Comfortably Numb, but I think it's just as good. One of the greatest sounds in music is Gilmour's guitar.
