Led Zeppelin could have a "new" Robert...as in "Smith" ...

How freakin' cool would that be if Jimmy hooked up with Robert Smith from the Cure!

Awesome voice, incredible presence, a bit of a Goth, magical - he's got it all!

And Robert Plant adores him!

Let's hear it for Led Zeppelin's new Robert!!

Isn't this the same guy that sang with 'the doors' a few years ago? oh, wait, that was the guy from "The Cult" ...well, same thing...

Hate to be a kill joy but I for one say as I have before no Robert no Led Zeppelin sorry.

Agreed; it would simply be another band in need of a new name. Having seen Led Zeppelin many times, I guess I've learned to define Led Zeppelin by the basic four members.

Robert and Jimmy did Cure songs on their '98 Tour. Plant considers Smith as one of his fav singers and someone that influenced his music in the '80s...R. Smith is way cooler than Ian Astbury.

Although I have no problem with the Cult either - great band, they rock well enough.

I agree. But, considering Plant will not continue with Zeppelin, Jimmy needs a serious replacement singer. Jimmy can play Cure songs and Smith can sing Zeppelin songs - I would pay big bucks to see that combo.

Oh my now were talking Led U2 please Lord give me strength.None of the singers you have mentioned are good enough to shine Robert Plant's shoes .Wake up listen closley to the music.

Agreed. (note: I've been a serious Zep fan since 1974, I know their music inside and out) But, we all must face it - Plant is done with Zeppelin and Jimmy is sitting around wondering what to do next. Suggesting other great singers is the next step to recovery.

Jimmy NEEDS another singer!! Someone who can play his advocate. Remember Paul Rodgers? Bad choice and Jimmy regretted it. He needs another "soul-mate" in music,,,Plant is gone, gone, gone.

O.K. YOU tell us what Jimmy is supposed to do w/o Plant....c'mon - let's hear it.

Without Plant? Move on...

Do you want it to become like Lynyrd Skynyrd, where there isn't any more original members? The new Zeppelin, with Joe-Shit-the-Ragman on lead vocals...Jimmy Witherspoon on bass and Jack Smack the Cadillac on drums....Do you want them (LZ) to start enlisting, say, members of 'tribute' bands, which seems to be the trend with the aging...(Judas Priest, Journey)? C'mon, man. Led Zeppelin, the band, passed with Bonzo. I love them. They will always be my favorite band of all time...but like us, they are human and will die. Their music will live forever....as some one aptly stated earlier in the forum, do you want to see 'what was' become the joke the Stones have become or the travesty of Van Halen/ thepolice/the 20th Century Doors/etc/etc/etc....Let's enjoy what the original members have given us. Have you ever read the book "Pet Cemetary" by Stephen King? We, as humans, dont want to let go. If you try to make the dead live, well, read the book. Hint: bad things happen...

Do you want (for God's sake, NOOOOO!!!!!!!) Steven Tyler to be the 'official' Led Zeppelin singer???

Sorry, but the long and winding road takes us back to this guy once again.

Just a question i thought i would throw out there and see what the replys are like. We all talk about "other" singers to fill Roberts place, and i for one would not want that. That said though i often wonder what would have happened if Robert had called it a day after the accident, or the death of his son do you think that the remaining members would have shut it down to? Or maybe, just maybe Jimmy would have transformed the band once again as he did with the Yardbirds. This is just food for thought because at some point iam sure it was discussed as a problem that could arise. So with that in mind i truesly think that touring with the other members is more of a power thing then anything. I feel for Page cause this whole Zep thing is "HIS" brainchild and to see it fall apart must have killed him. To close, if Robert won't do it then the band should tour on there own with no singer just music.

Regards
