danelectro59
I've never seen them live. I think the band is nostalgia-ised and certainly up on a pedestal, but that is what comes along with being living legends. Zeppelin is not just a band, they represent a time and a movement which people wish they could experience again. The thing is, they will never be the same 20 year olds they were as we remember them. Nostalgia can be good and bad, people need to take care not to live in the past at the expense of living in the moment, and experiencing the "avant-garde" of the present. Well said. I think the point is, if they're going to tour again, I would love to see some new material.

There would have to be new material if they were to attempt a tour. Another Benifit on the other hand, would not require it
KidLed
As far as being stuck in the past, I see NOTHING wrong with that, especailly since the present sucks and the future is bleak! Most especially in music!!! Not to mention the world! I was 12 when Zep ended, never got to see them, while all that garbage in the 80's was going on, I was listening to The Who, The Zep, The Stones, The Dead, and seeing any I could or members of. To this day THAT is my music. I was so thankful when grunge came and destroyed hair bands and 80's pop garbage!!! And i tell you this I wish i was living in1880 with the way this materialistic nightmare of a society is!!

I, personally, would love to see them in a live concert, even now. Why? Because I never got to see them, and I would enjoy it immensely. New material or not.....doesn't matter to me. I am not "stuck in the past" but I certainly enjoy looking back from time to time. You , like alot of other younger people say they were born in the wrong time. (I assume you are 40-ish) I feel I was born just a couple of years (maybe 3 or 4) too early. I wouldv'e been a teenager instead of 11 years old when the Brisitch Invasion came to the U.S. Other than that I'd say, musically, the 60's and 70's were the best! I lived Led Zep full force for their 11 year tenure as a group, but did not see them Live.

Viva Las Vegas comes to mind without some new material.....that is relevant

That is the Left side of my brain speaking. The Right side of my brain is more emotional, and wants one either way. POOM
