The Pagemeister
VELVET REVOLVER Building Web Site To Audition Singers VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has told Christa Titus of Billboard.com that the band is creating a web site to audition singers. The new site will help VELVET REVOLVER replace Scott Weiland, whose April 1 dismissal from the band continued the public feud between the ex-frontman and his former bandmates. "The band is actually talking about actually building a Web site [and] doing some auditions via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point," Slash explains, noting that it should be happening "in the next month or so." Jahfin
They stole the idea from Journey who auditioned for their latest Steve Perry clone via YouTube.
The Pagemeister
No matter how goofy an idea this is, they are simply using the latest technology available. Using the web can put them in touch with a much larger number of possible vocalists, much quicker than traditional auditions. This is new school. If they don't find anybody good, they can always get Hagar . . .
Jarlaxle 56
Nightwish (Symphonic Metal band from Finland) did the same thing last year for their new vocalist. The only downside I can see is that they have to sort through thousands of submitions.
NickZepp
Why don't they just get back with Axl and be done with it.
