The Pagemeister Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 VELVET REVOLVER Building Web Site To Audition Singers VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has told Christa Titus of Billboard.com that the band is creating a web site to audition singers. The new site will help VELVET REVOLVER replace Scott Weiland, whose April 1 dismissal from the band continued the public feud between the ex-frontman and his former bandmates. "The band is actually talking about actually building a Web site [and] doing some auditions via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point," Slash explains, noting that it should be happening "in the next month or so." JethroTull Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Fuck Velvet Revolver. How about hold some auditions and do things old school style. Quote
Cactus Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Fuck Velvet Revolver. How about hold some auditions and do things old school style. Yeah, everything that's "old school style" must be better, right? Quote
MistyMountain67 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 so does this mean anybody could audition ? weird, but cool. Quote
Jahfin Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 They stole the idea from Journey who auditioned for their latest Steve Perry clone via YouTube. Quote
The Pagemeister Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 No matter how goofy an idea this is, they are simply using the latest technology available. Using the web can put them in touch with a much larger number of possible vocalists, much quicker than traditional auditions. This is new school. If they don't find anybody good, they can always get Hagar . . . Quote
Jarlaxle 56 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Nightwish (Symphonic Metal band from Finland) did the same thing last year for their new vocalist. The only downside I can see is that they have to sort through thousands of submitions. Quote
NickZepp Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Why don't they just get back with Axl and be done with it. Quote
