Led Zeppelin Fan00 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I apologize in advance if this is common knowledge... but I was wondering if y'all were aware of the 'hidden' art aspects of the Hermit of the Tarot pic in the LP's gatefold... Quote
Led Zeppelin Fan00 Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Do tell. Gladly. Let's see if anyone else responds... Thanks Audrey. Quote
59LesPaul Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 The bit where you hold it against a mirror? Quote
lzfan715 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I tried it and didn't see anything. Supposedly if you hold it against a mirror you'l see a horned creature. Quote
Led Zeppelin Fan00 Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) I tried it and didn't see anything. Supposedly if you hold it against a mirror you'l see a horned creature. That's one of 2 things. When looking at the image upright, portrait orientation, place the right edge against the mirror (it's easier if you use the LP instead of the CD sleeve). The mountain becomes the right side of the 'Beast's' head/face, the Hermit becomes his right horn. The mirror image becomes the left side of his head, and the mirror image of the Hermit his left horn... So very cool... But there's one more hidden image as well... infidel Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Here's a graphic I made, though I don't think the hermit is meant to be the horns, personally. Quote
brspled Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I feel like I'm 10 again reading this thread. Quote
fenix Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Here's a graphic I made, though I don't think the hermit is meant to be the horns, personally. Looks more like Jabba the Hut Quote

ZoSo88 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Take the image above, and view it upside down, you see a little boy holding his head and smiling. Quote
andrew Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Reminds me of Frank from Donnie Darko. Quote
SteveAJones Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Something else to observe, the lightbearer has horns. The light bearer is also way up on high whereas the small church is down in the valley below, diminished. Anyway, it looks like a variation of Mad Magazine's fold-in back covers.
