huw
There's playing the guitar, and there's playing guitar if you know what I mean.
misty mountain
There's playing the guitar, and there's playing guitar if you know what I mean. sure; but Robert must feel like he wants a bit more of the stage sharing especially when /if its a long song between vocal bits ... Never seemed to bother him in the 70s - & some of those instrumental bits could go on for a loooooooooooong time.

Reggie29
Nobody wants to see Robert Plant playing the guitar at a Led Zep concert... Why not? He played bass on LZ I!
Gainsbarre
He played bass on LZ I! Which track?
Gainsbarre
Robert says: "In truth, I was an occasional bass player. It says so on Zeppelin I, next to my name: vocals, harmonica and occasional bass. Very occasionally -- once, I think, since 1968. How in God's name that ended up on the cover is so funny. I'm sure Jonesy [John Paul Jones] didn't like it [laughs]. But I suppose every time he fucked up he could say it was me."
Reggie29
Which track? Black Mountainside?
Gainsbarre
Black Mountainside? Like I said, we don't want to see Plant playing guitar at a Led Zep gig... I mean you may as well suggest Keith share guitar duties with Mick
Peep Solero
Should he or should he not? well...That decision has been taken out of his hands as Jimmy made him swear never to play guitar on any record again after his strumming on "Down by the seaside" cover version with Tori Amos. Sunray782
^He looks like he's concentrating very hard so he gets every chord right! Hmm, maybe he doesn't want to anger Jimmy! Edited April 24, 2008 by Sunray782
*I*LOVE*JIMMY!!
I dont remember what awards show it was, about two years ago Jimmy and Neal Young (i think) and Robert was playing guitar along with many more and it looked like he was only playing two or three notes, the same thing over and over again. Not knowing anything about cords or riffs or anything like that I may be wrong. It just seem like he wasn't very comforable. Like a fish out of water. I'm sure someone knows what i'm talking about. It was a rerun and I only saw about five minutes of it.

SteveAJones
Robert played guitar on one song throughout his 1990 World Tour; it was not a highlight.

the queen without a king
sure; but Robert must feel like he wants a bit more of the stage sharing especially when /if its a long song between vocal bits ... He can always grab the harmonica or the tambourine during those long instrumentals. This way he has something to do if the jam runs too long and he never has to touch a guitar. ninelives
Robert playing the guitar in Montreux 1993 - You Shook Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUNWsKRNR78 That's a great video I think he plays pretty well there. Some clips I've seen he looks almost uncomfortable playing.
